Old Friends Friday

This is the knife that convinced me that the instant potatoes in beer soak isn't the best way to impart a patina.

Sure looks like I caused rust on a nickel silver bolster.

That's a new one to me Jer! :D I do remember Charlie boiling his TC Barlow in vinegar! 🤣

This is definitely an old friend for me, my first ever pocket knife! My parents had no idea what they were starting when the bought it for me!

Great that you still have it :)
whenever anyone mentions OCF (Old Cutlery Friends) this highly esteemed Pal from the fifties always comes to mind

built to last, it's more than a lifetime friend
Wow! :)
I really should carry this one more often. 1983 SI, used over the years canoeing, hiking, and scraping paint, among other duties.

Definitely an Old Friend :)

Wow is right Jack! :)
If it were possible, the only thing I'd change about Pal's Cattle knife would be the weight. It's a bit heavy in the pocket but in hand that weight inspires confidence even during moderately hard use. It was clearly made to be used. Today even at around 70 years old it is still ready and able for good days work.
