Old Friends Friday

A couple of real old friends today, my 10 year old SAK and 25 year old S&M.

I'm already carrying 2 Lambsfoot knives today, so I thought I better pick an Old Friend that doesn't take up too much pocket space, and chose this William Rodgers Penknife. The covers are synthetic, but I find it a nice knife to use and carry

My first puukko, described by the seller as native American, from the artwork on the sheath, presumably. (t
Not to be superior about it; that's what I thought of the one Uncle Bill had left at Grandma's)
Nikolai Kivinen, 1940s.
Maybe he was related to Boring Ray Jer! 😁👍

Thanks! I'm going to go OOT with the flip clips, though, so I can't draw the tubes through the side slits. I'll look for some finger-tightening bolts at work tomorrow.

Sorry for missing this until now Jer, I hope you've been having fun with your slingshot (nice pic there) :) I had a short session last night, and realised I need to get back into practicing regularly :D

My first always and everywhere be-all and end-all knife, probably 1974. Not a bad choice even today.

Its original scabbard is housing my sheathless OKC Seneca, which is too broad to fit in the new sheath.

A classic Jer  Can you remember how much you paid for it in 1974? :)

It seems like an age since I last carried my Charlie Lamb, which is definitely an Old Friend :)

Been an age trying to post too :(

I believe I will go back to the Case 6375 in my pocket, for at least the weekend ... tho TBH it is tempting to go with the Robeson 622110 large jack knife. 🤨

I have a "feeling" I will not be able to pick just one from the contenders for my 2024 KOTY ... even if I break it down to a KOTY by pattern.
Just in the Stockman category, I have five strong contenders that are neck and neck. They all check all the boxes to be my choice.

That looks like a well loved and well used knife there.👍
