Old Friends Friday

Believe it or not, the best out of several shots: (Of course I keep challenging myself with unnatural light.)

I need to clean up the aluminum pommel and keep it off the leather.
The siliconized acrylic caulk sheath-liner worked less well with this knife than it has with many smaller ones. It stained the blade in places without rusting it.
I can fix the unaesthetic white smears with a sharpie.
The top of the belt loop is cracked. I'll try to remember to glue some thin leather inside and out before I put it on to flee into the swamps.

Really quite a fine old knife in excellent condition.
Probably from the long-gone flea market.

Supernatural Jer! 😁 Nice find 👍

I got this one in a little antique shop in Herkimer, NY, up the street from the Largest Indoor Flea Market in the World. Both long gone. I think the "We Buy Gold" sign is still there.
Kabar Marine Hunter, with "Sonny" scratched on the sheath and "MR" scratched in the handle.

Very nice knife. Maybe I'll get the current version Chinese in 4116 before the tariffs start.

Cool knife Jer 😎😊👍

[Meant for Random Tuesday- Sorry.]
I know this turned up a couple days ago, but I couldn't out-randomize it. I had no idea I had it, never mind that it would be in the little box where I was looking for hockey tape. (I found a compact backlock thumbstud box-cutter, too, but I won't mention that here.)😁

My cardiologist doesn't like my prescription suggestion of doubling my heart-rate depressant. He might be right; my pulse is 49 this morning.
I'll track my bp and pulse for a while with the new meter that has an irregular heartbeat feature, and probably wear another monitor in a bit. Unless my primary doctor has other ideas in a couple of hours.
Arise, Arjuna, with thy spirit prepared to roll the dice!

I always enjoy carrying this vintage Carl Schlieper Scout knife, gifted to me by Duncan Campbellclanman Campbellclanman , a decade ago. It has great steel

Thanks!
She took down the details of the heart episode, but the appointment was about diabetes. The heart sounded good to her.
It's hard to learn and hard to remember that being a heart patient doesn't make your case urgent.
I'm glad you still have a good heart my friend :) Here, the doctors will now only see you about one issue, and throw you out after!

Hopefully, I got the right thread today ;)

This old Boker was found in a small, local store by paulhilborn paulhilborn , and lovingly restored. He gifted it to me many years ago, and it has always been one of my treasured knives, which has featured in this thread before. I was very sad to read of the passing of Paul's dad, in this wonderful tribute thread of Duncan Campbellclanman Campbellclanman . I'll be keeping this knife close to hand today, and thinking about my friend across The Pond, and his great dad

The Zippo and coin also came from Paul :)

Thank you Jack!!! I'm in our store before we open, I was touched by your post, thank you Jack, your a good friend and your kindness is legendary. I've been absent from the porch for sometime now to spend more time with Dad. I check in occasionally and drop a post here and there. This was nice to see and I thank you Jack, be well my friend ❤️

Thank you Paul, I'm sorry I'm not better at keeping in touch, but I often think of you my friend :) I was very sad to read about your dad recently, he sounds to have been a wonderful man, and I'm glad you were able to spend so much time with him. Take care brother ❤️:)👍
