  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Old Friends Friday

Here's a particularly nice Barlow I found while looking for my green Camillus. If I named my pictures, I might be able to find the post that says where and when I found it.

I think it's particularly nice, anyway. It's also my only Ulster Old Timer.
[Later that same day:
It's one of my OT Prince Albert Tobacco Barlows. I remember where I got one of the two OT PAT Barlows, but not the other one, and I don't know which one I gave to my mentor at the church. I figured this out while looking for my Schrade OT PE Barlow. It's still pretty old to me, and still quite nice.]

My Old Friend today was a AGR Sting. Only the CRKT version unfortunately, must have had it nearly 20 years. I say 'was' because I gave it to my mate Wolfie, who'll probably either lose it, or mess it up somehow 😖

Unfortunately, I only have a couple of pics of the knife, and my main Internet connection is down. Hopefully, I can post a pic later 👍

I had forgotten how much I like this one. A lot of blade (3-7/8”) in a slim, light package:

Had it over 6 years now.

Tom, I just used the same knife to cut my pizza leftovers. I keep mine in the kitchen drawer.

I carry and use its springless cousin a lot. I find its slicing ability rivals or possibly exceeds that of an Opinel. It will withstand surprisingly hard work, and the pointy tip is excellent for fine work as well.

I have one too (and a Friction Folder), very slicey! :)

And I just realised I don't actually have a photo of it! Doh! 😖😂
