Old Friends Friday

This one was Dad's. It must have been super cheap at the flea market, because Dad never carried three blades.

You too Robin, beautiful Barlow my friend

I felt like carrying an old friend today, in the form of my Needham NAAFI Knife, a great solid Jack, which just screams reliability. I dare say that not everyone will see what I like about it so much, it's the very opposite of fancy, but I like it a great deal, and like many other great knives I own, it was a gift from Duncan :)

Have a great Friday everyone, weekend's here ;)

I actually like that one quite a bit Jack. I love the checkering of the covers and the birds eye pivot. It just screams all business with it's no frills attitude. Made to handle a lifetime of hard work.

Having used a fair share of pistols with checkered grips, those covers look like they feel great to touch, too.

Thanks a lot Bob, these knives were sold to British servicemen in the early 50's, after WW2, and are quite rare I think, particularly in this condition. You can see the influence of the WW2 British Army clasp knife in the pivot and the Bexoid scales, I guess they had a lot of surplus material! :)

Thanks, they do :)

Ever notice how one thing leads to another? Well, playing with a new ebony 74 caused me to think of this ebony 72. It hasn't been out for some time and as soon as it was in my hand I thought, "Ahhhh, welcome back old friend." Which reminded me of this thread... and here we are. See? One thing does lead to another...

...Just my two cents ;)
