That is a lovely and rare bird, Paul. I like the cup, too. Hope to get out on the range with my CZ when things look safer.
I was just admiring the cup too

Found this old Camillus Barlow that I haven’t seen in over a year, thought I lost it. Here I found it in my hunting pack that I didn’t get to use last fall. It kept company today in my pocket with the Lamb Foot and Slimline Trapper.

Looks like you turned it into a very usable blade shape. Kinda half clip and half sheep. I shall call it the "clipped sheep".
Thanks, John. It's a very usable blade shape, and it was like that when I got it. That old Boker must have been someone's Old Friend long before it was mine.Looks like you turned it into a very usable blade shape. Kinda half clip and half sheep. I shall call it the "clipped sheep".![]()

I guess these are all old friends of varying degrees.

Rossignol Laguiole is 20 years old this summer and the Case peanut has been in my pocket everyday for 8+ years
I posted this 108OT in “Old Friends” last year, but somehow your “Old Snubnose” reminded me of it again. Not exactly the same shape but somewhat similar. I’ve thought of it as just a pudgy Wharncliffe, but now I think Wharnclip sounds better. Thanks, John. It's a very usable blade shape, and it was like that when I got it.
