"Old Knives"

Very nice trio, Primble! Love seeing your Keen Kutter Barlow.
Great duo, fishing1635. Nice bone and love the etch on the saw!

I agree Dan, Primble- yet another nice shot- I remember a while ago I think I purchased a couple of Keen Kutter Hatchets or Hatchet Heads and Mr. Hilborn has them as he too likes the Keen Kutter theme.

Love that Padlock as much as the Hatchet AND that beauty Barlow - is that the one with really skinny Blades Rob?

fishin - Yeah...That Kutmaster's Bone is superb- Didn't they do it well eh? Love the Saw!

Love the old saw ( perfect ;)😊 ) and a nice old Utica was well !

A most handsome Barlow... for sure.
Probably my favorite barlow, Rob, I'm envious!
Beautiful shot of a beautiful Barlow, hatchet and padlock Rob. I had a Kiwi gift me two Keen Kutter hatchets, one just like that....now who could that be 🤔

Thank you to all of you guys !:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:😊
I probably should have never created that picture Duncan ! 🤣
Not many Kiwi's around here ..... I don't think. Paul ... I would love to see some pics of your KK hatchets .. with knives of course. 😊

Here's a Boker my Granddad gave me when I was a little guy - for years it was the knife I cleaned brim and small bass with. Below it is a recent Boker acquisition - according to internet charts, the tang stamp indicates 1860's-80's.

I wish this site had a counterfeit forum
I too have questioned knives on this and other boards resulting in hurt feelings all around. Now days I just keep quiet. I been had, and I chalk it up as a learning experience. I wish they would run another printing of Counterfeiting Pocket Knives (the actual title escapes me and my copy is in storage 6000 miles away). I've become very leery of almost anything I find. I'm at the point of strictly going back to customs made to order.

Thanks for the response Eisman much appreciated. I too have just shut my mouth unless someone asks me to look a knife over.

Kai76 that knife looks totally legit to me. Looks like the bone on one side got a little dried out, maybe sitting in the sun for an extended period, or it may have just been a canal filled funky piece which would make it a bit brittle and hard to dye. It's hard to say. Regardless it's a really nice example.

Adolphus Cutlery Hobo. Was told it’s late 1800s/early 1900s but have never been able to confirm. Any if you fine folks able to help me out?

Adolphus Cutlery Co. was a mark owned by A. J. Jordan who imported knives from England and Germany, and sold them in St. Louis. My reference books say 1882-1890s.

The Alexander Jackson Jordan (A.J.) company owned many different brand names, including AAA1, Old Faithful, 20th Century, and Adolphus Cutlery. A large amount of his business was in selling knives to Native American tribes, especially Blackfeet and Crow. They operated from 1871-1929.
