"Old Knives"

Since there seems to be a theme on jacks right now I thought I would post of of my old ones, a Joseph Rodgers & Sons, with horn covers dated between 1901-1910.

HOLY MOLY  Charles Sir - SEND THAT HERE!!!

That Sir is a beautiful knife! - what a joy to look at- Charles thank you.

Stunning Jack Charles, couldn't Rodgers make knives back then? :) What size it may I ask? Looks like it has Clean & Square joints

Here's a big old thing I found a while back :)

Welcome aboard Luke, you got a couple of great knives there, plenty of good honest use

Thanks Duncan and Jack. Knife is 3 1/2" closed. Jack here are a couple of close ups of the joints: Looks similar in construction to your Rodgers jack

Thanks for the photos Charles, beautiful. Yes, I thought so too, though mine unfortunately lacks the ER tang stamp. I'll include a few more pics, sorry for the quality :o

What wonderful knives, Jack and Charles!! Just a pleasure to see these:thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you both for sharing these treasures.

I agree, absolutely beautiful knives! Now I know these knives can't hold a candle to most of the knives I've seen but I have one that I need help identifying:

I can get a better picture if I need to, but you can see the "Q" on the blade. I'm sure you guys can ID it really quickly!

Here's a Colonial:

I also got a beat up M. Klein and Sons:

These knives are priceless and very special to me. They will always remind me of my Grandfather. There's more but I won't "stink" up the picture thread further ;)...and any help IDing the first knife is appreciated!

The Klien looks to have been a Hawkbill my friend!

Your Queen at a quick glance- cant quite see looks to be Delrin Winterbottom Bone, I could be wrong, I cant quite see in the photo whetr it's real Bone or not - if it is, the the Bone is called Winterbottom Bone.
Have a look at this chart, again, I cant see if there is a fine script line of the rest of the word Queen ontop of the STEEL that you can clearly see, but it looks to be between 1958 and 1960 as far as the Queen Stamp Chart tells us - unless of course you can see evidence of the "ueen" in fine fancy script above the "steel", then- as the chart tells us it would be between 1949 and 1958.

chuko ... Jack ... Super Rodgers knives ! Both are amazing. Thanks for all those pictures.

LukeGeauxBoom Nice for you to have those family items. The Klien is great ! Thanks for showing.

Back to RODGERS ... this slender chap is odd. It seems to have a plated blade. Star and cross on reverse of tang. The tip of the blade has been broken. I guess a fruit knife. Her Majesty would be Queen Victoria. 3 1/4 inches.

Campbell, you sir are amazing! I was thinking that Klein was a hawkbill as well. And the Queen, there is no fine script just the "Q" so it would make her close to 55 years old! The bone feels real to me as well. And thank you ADEE, and thanks for showing us another great knife!

No problem Luke.

Jack, that Joseph Rodgers of yours also is a awesome knife my friend-Just Wow!....
Adee, thank you for bringing in a third great J.R!! Great stuff!!

Good to see more of your Grandfather's knives Luke

Another nice looking knife my friend, is that an EPNS coating do you reckon?

Thanks pal :)

Continuing with the Joseph Rodgers theme, here's another couple :)

Jack ... Thanks for the reply. EPNS on the Rodgers knife ? I can't think what else it might be. It would make some sense if it is indeed a fruit knife. Ad.

Jack ... More Rodgers ... Both very nice. Both in good condtion. Both good finds. What is the handle material on the lambfoot ? Ad.

Thanks S-K, lovely Rodgers Stockman

Ta ADEE :) The covers on the small Wharncliffe are Ebonite (Celluloid) ;)

I really like the blade and tang stampings on all of the English made knives shown here. The "Stockmans Friend" is wonderful SK.:)
