"Old Knives"

Any of you guys with more info about E Weck & son, please chime in!

Nick, according to my notes, I have a Edward Weck & Sons sleeveboard pen with jigged brown bone handle, 2 blades (spear, pen) 3 ¼” 1893-1943. I'll try to find it and post a pic. I'm loving your growing oldies collection, bud. You're no gremmie.

Schrade Cut Co was one of their go to manufacturers... I have a Weck peachseed lobster knife that I just received a couple days ago that I will post along side its Schrade Cut Co brother :)
I’ve a Schrade sleeveboard with very similar bone to the pile side in this E Weck. I’ll post a pic of it later. Like you mentioned, it could be made by Schrade.

Can I have it please Stuart? :)

This one is new to me. E Weck & son New York penknife. What I could find online was that E Weck & Son were wholesalers/distributors from 1893 to 1943 but also read they were existent till modern times and Schrade made some of their knives in the 40’s. Mark and pile side has different bone? Mark side has a woody grain/color and pile side has more of a tan caramel color to it. Any of you guys with more info about E Weck & son, please chime in!

Here's one from the Schrade Cut Co 1926 catalog... is yours 3-1/8" long?

Thanks for the info. The bone on your 2 knives are gorgeous! Yes mine is 3 1/8” but has brass instead of steel liners as described in the Schrade catalog. Here’s a pic showing the similarity of the bones of an early Schrade(left) and the Weck(right). Looks pretty much identical to me.

Charlie- Beautiful Knife Sir - I just do not know how you do it- but you do it well!
Old Schrade Peachseed is never a chore to look at!

Yes, beautiful Jack Charlie:thumbsup::thumbsup: Sure looks like a Schrade made knife to me! Looks like it just came off the Schrade assembly line:) I agree Duncan one can see beautiful things staring at Schrade peach seed jigged bone:eek: The simplistic beauty of a bare head jack with peach seed bone handles is just so appealing!! I never get tired of looking at them and each example is unique.

Nice Knife Mr. North Shore
I wonder ......the Shouldering from the Cold Stamping - Do you think that perhaps Schrade assembled the knife without stamping - then Ulster Stamped the knife themselves?
Or perhaps Schrade simply stamped available blanks?
I must have a look at my Schrade built Peach- Seed Ulster That was so kindly gifted to me by Mr Paul Hilborn, as I cannot remember what the Stamping looks like.

Nice Jacks NS and Kevin.
I doubt they were stamped after assembly, Duncan - maybe after tempering. Peachseed Ulsters and Schrades overlapped for a time - who knows what they were up to when the companies were joined!!??

Thanks Charlie  I hope that when I ask questions as such that they don't take anything away from the showing of such a fantastic Knife like North Shores Beauty!
