Hi Itsmebsh,

Picked this up today and trying to learn about it. It's about 9" overall with about a 4 1/2" blade. Only thing I can read on the blade stamp is Olsen. Also this one has a "HERTER'S WASECA, MN" on the sheath.

I'm thinking after reading through this thread that, it maybe a 503? Really curious about date and if it is USA made.
Thanks for you time, Doug.

O on-edge : Hello Doug, what you have is a model 504 with a Olsen sheath that was made to go with a knife Olsen made for Herters. Hence the Herters on the sheath. The knife was made between 1971 and 1982. Most of Olsen’s contract knife sheaths were black. But once and awhile you see them in brown. And yes it was made in Howard City Michigan. Thanks for sharing, Brian

 It's a good addition to my blade/tool box and it's going to get put into service next deer season.

Just throwing this out there .If anyone has any questions about Olsen OK knives feel free to ask . I will answer to the best of my ability. I have been collecting Olsen's for about 20 + years and have a nice collection of knives plus paperwork and research . If i don't know i will say so .
I have an olsen ok hc 510 my husband bought 60 years ago in Howard city. I'm looking for info and value please

Looks like we left you dangling a while. I think the best place to look for values is on completed listings on the famous auction site.
(And we can't talk values here unless we are gold members or higher.)

Thank you for allowing me to express myself. I have a hunting knife that was given to me by a friend in VT, approximately 1967. It has always been my "go to" hunting knife. It has field dressed approximately 25 whitetails, and within the last week it had a workout. I did 3 of them! I really had not paid much attention to it until someone helping me move the field-dressed whitetail asked me if it was a "Buck" knife. I told him I didn't think so, but that I had it over 50 years! That got me thinking to study it a little. It is 7" long, has a stag handle, brass finger guard, slight curve to the blade with blood grooves. The blade is stamped Olsen Knife Co., and virtually unreadable is Solingen, Germany. It has a riveted sheath with "Made in Germany" stamped on the back of it.

I stumbled on this forum today, and am amazed at the interest and history of Olsen. I would appreciate any info you could provide on it. I have pictures, but am unable to load them into the thread as jpgs. Thanks!

Olsen had a manufacturing plant in Howard City Michigan, but they also did a lot of importing. They were an early distributor of Victorinox knives. They also offered a large selection of imported Solingen knives.
