On Playing Wordle . . .

04/12/2022: Wordle 297 4/6

Had enough letters to score a Birde 3 but chose the "wrong" word.
Only saw the answer after the "wrong" word revealed the "right" one w/the proper placement of 2 of the letters.

But that's ok, it's still a solid Par 4. :)

BTW, Wordle Bot used the same 3rd word as I did and also solved it in 4. The NYT Ave was 3.9.
So, you guys who scored a 3 on this puzzle are KILLING IT! ;)

Like today's game my starter word revealed 4 letters but this time 1 was in the green which was key to solving it in 3.

Back on track but still struggled w/Quordle 78 today:

Still a tough group of words but it was better than yesterday's even tougher Quordle 77 which I failed.
Had a hard time visualizing any of these words and, if you can't solve the 1st word in 4, it's almost certainly a fail. :(

Third guess was key to solving this puzzle. No letters in green but enough letters to make sense of it to score a Par 4. :)
Otherwise, it could have been a Double Bogey 6 or worse. :(

The Wordle Bot and I both solved it in 4 and the NYT average is 3.9.

The 3rd word choice again was key to solving the puzzle.
Probably would have solved it in 3 if I had used the O instead of the A in the 2nd position but the Par 4 was fine.

I'm happy as long as I don't score a Bogey 5 or Double Bogey 6, which are average score "killers."
Currently on a 10 game "streak" of Birdie/Pars for a 10 game average of 3.6. :)

A pretty common Par 4 pattern for me recently. Just 1-2 letters revealed by my starter words and then choosing the "right" 3rd word to reveal the necessary letters to solve the puzzle in 4. Not exciting but at least it's consistent. :)

WordleBot solved it in 3 and the NYT Ave was 3.9.

I just got stumped on the word MAMBO. The two M’s threw me.

After my second guess, there were six possible answers, all only differing by the fourth letter.*

The problem was that I only had four more guesses. :oops:


* there were actualy seven words and seven letters, but one of those letters was eleiminated by my first two guesses

There were at least 6 other word choices available that I came up with.

WordleBot said that there were 11 possible choices and rated the choice as 68/100 Skill and 95/100 Luck.
The Bot solved it in 4 and the NYT average was 4.

Again, more luck than skill. Choice of the 3rd word was the lucky part, the rest was skill.
According to WordleBot, there was only 1 other choice possible based on CHIME.

Crashed & burned on Quordle 81. Only solved 2 of 4 boards in 4 & 9. The "streak" ends again at 3.
Gotta stop playing Quordle but I just can't help myself. I need an intervention. LOL! ;)

Just replayed Quordle 81 using Richard338 Richard338 's son's starter words and solved it in 8 but it's just seems too easy doing that. May start using those words in Octordle instead which should be more challenging. ;)

PS: The NYT just killed the 2nd Wordle Archive but all the other games w/the name "Wordle" in it still survive.
I'm wondering why the NYT hasn't asked them to disband yet but it's only a matter of time until NYT's hammer drops on them too :(
