Tricky word. 3rd guess didn't add any letters but
limited the possiblities to just 1 per WordleBot
but still had trouble figuring it out.

The current NYT average for this puzzle is 4.2.


09/10/2022: Wordle 448 3/6 LOFTY

Went with "___O___TY" as the letter pattern and
the only word that fit for me was LOFTY.

WordleBot said there were 2 other possibilities --
HOTLY & POTTY -- but they never occured to me.

The final NYT average for this puzzle was 4.2.

It was actually the only word I could think of by guess three for me. I had the green T and I knew the A was either the last or second to last letter, but I had a hard time believing they'd use technical words even if that was a pretty low bar in terms of medical terminology, so it took me all day to actually submit the guess! Spent hours trying to come up with some other word!

Oh, I saw what I did and just deleted it.

Sorry, I usually put the word in for the prior day's puzzle at the end of the results line and mindlessly did it for yesterday's current game too.

Mea culpa. 🤷‍♂️

Got the same green letters at CC & MM on my
3rd guess which reduced the possibilities from
15 to 4 but the answer was the only possiblity that
considered, even though one that overlooked was
very obvious and a more likely answer, which may
have fooled others and explain why the NYT ave
for this puzzle is current so high.

The current NYT average for this puzzle is 4.7.

Sorry again if I spoiled this puzzle for anyone.

It was a tough one for me. Don't know how I came
up with PLAIT for the 3rd guess but even though it
didn't reveal any new letters, it put the I in the
green and limited the position of the A & T which
left TIBIA as the only possible answer.

The final NYT average for this puzzle was 4.2.

Finally remembered to switch to hard mode!

This one was pretty challenging, I didn't even know my third guess was a word, I've only seen it as a proper name, but it was the only thing I could think of that would let me guess my yellow letter in the fifth spot where I suspected it would be, since I was on hard mode. After that I left it for 30 minutes for lunch, came back, and saw it pretty quickly.
