on the 2 different letter patterns that I considered:

So funny thing about today... I'm still working on my best starting words, but this second word was up there on my list of second words to pick if several of my first choices gave me nothing, except it had one letter in common with most of my first choice words. But today that worked out perfectly.
Yesterday I was between SPLAT and SAINT, and figured no way would they do SPLAT. Several of my friends did SATIN, which oddly never occurred to me. Knowing A was not the middle letter really narrowed it down and it actually took me several hours to come up with a good guess. I got stuck thinking the A and the T must have gone at the end and came up dry on words until I realized the middle letter must also be a vowel.

This is only my 2nd Eagle in 253 games!
Broke my "rule" of always using both starter words
because only 1 of the remaining letters needed to solve
the puzzle was likely to be included in the 2nd word.
There were only 2 possible answers per WordleBot. I
considered both of them but, in this case, chose the
one that considered more likely even though the other
could be considered more obscure because I thought
the other was a "slang" and not a proper word. Worst
case, a Birdie, if I was wrong. So, not a big risk.

Very par sort of day chasing the yellow letter location.
Also today I learned that my scores had only ever been saved locally on my phone because I've never been logged into my NYT amount when I played, so now I am apparently on a two-win streak of only two games played...
