Unfortunately I haven’t shot it in a few years. It was shearing lead off bullets at the forcing cone, and I need to find a gunsmith to look at it.
 
Thanks. Mine is 44 special. I fitted the stainless grip frame myself. I put every bit of wear on it carrying it. I’ve carried it constantly almost 2 years now.
 
What is your symptoms for “shearing lead”? The most common thing is to have the cylinder throats be too small, smaller than the groove diameter that is. That causes leading. Rough forcing cone will cause it too, as well as a few other things. I can help diagnose it if you like.

Over to the cast bullet forum, there is a guy that hones cylinder throats and has a reputation there. I’ve never used him. But I’m considering it. Though I ain’t interested in sizing larger than I do now, at .430, I’m interested in consistency.
