You have to pay for the knife up front. No exceptions. That's how the get you. They make you pay upfront, Tell you there are no refunds and you just have to eat it.
Trust me I'll be selling this one on eBay probably. I have a lot of money tied up in it.

Good lord that's horrible buissness practice.

I watched a couple of Medford YT vids recently. It seems he welcomes customers to call him on his cell.
If I was in this position I would take him up on that.
OP......send him a text calmly expressing your concerns and see what he says, it can't hurt and it's better than being in the position you are now in.
Going by what Amy said.....the site states ~ 30 weeks, but it's usually twice that.....they are aware of the problem but won't update the time frame on the site?? That's total BS brother.

What did it say when the OP ordered his knife?? I honestly don't know, never visited the site.
And who's guessing??

OP said the site promised 30-34 weeks WHEN HE ORDERED.

Things change over weeks and weeks. It now says eighteen months.

So you know who was guessing, bro. :p
the site states

I wonder if they are keeping the latest promise any better than the one the OP relates.

Makers that take full payment upfront know their estimated delivery dates are far off from actually. If they put the actual wait time, say 2 years no one would place an order. So they far underestimate delivery dates.

"I would have not bought one if I knew it was gonna be that long. I would have bought something else."-
OP you answered your osn question. They know if they were honest you and ithers wiuld have taken your busniess elsewhere. They roped you in and now got you by the ⚾️⚾️

I've met Greg a couple times (just briefly at knife shows), and he is as big of d-bag in person as he is in his videos.

Reading this and other similar complaints about this maker...I won't be spending my $$ on these blades :thumbdn:
Thanks for the heads up guys!

I think Greg's personality is neither here nor there. This is a customer service thread, and bottom line, the way your situation was handled is sub par.

And I am saying this as someone who ordered a custom knife directly from them before and actually received my product before the projected lead time.

No wonder Moteng is fire selling this brand to dealers, trying to get out before everyone learns the truth! Medford Knife & Tool has a toxic business strategy by alienating customers. I seriously doubt that this brand will be here in a few years...

I met Greg at a show and spoke with him via text a few times and all were very good experiences. As far as whats happening on your order is def not cool, i would start by shooting him a text, he is very responsive to texts and phone calls, I'm curious myself to see if and how your situation is rectified, good luck.

No reason to believe it will be rectified.

18 month wait, 100% up front and totally non-refundable ? Is a d2, Cnc knife really worth that ?
I wear a Tissot on my wrist that is an excellent timepiece, but I sure would not have entered into a deal like that for it.

Tripling the wait time after payment is fraud. I'd politely ask for a refund. If refused pursue legal action.

If it were me, I would text Greg first and find out how much longer. The OP waited this long for a knife he obviously really wants so I think it's worth a shot.
I know this was suggested earlier, I'm wondering if he tried.

n January I purchased my 6th knife from Medford knife and Tool. ...I went all out and ordered a pretty badass expensive praetorian TI.

[W]hen I ordered it and was told TWICE, [o]nce in the website when ordering and once in a order conformation email from some Amy Medford person, that the w[a]it was 30-34 weeks.

So fast forward to 32 weeks. I email them to check on the status. They proceed to tell me that orders that were placed during that month have a year and a half wait.

I emailed back and said ok well what happened to this email and my receipt that have another date. they said that they put those times on their as an estimate but they almost always go longer.

Personally, I always try for an amicable solution with a seller. But all the OP was required to do was pay. The vendor was required to deliver in 30-34 weeks. That was the deal.

No I'm saying that he Greg should respond politely on a social media site. If he chooses not to that's on him making himself look bad not the OP.

Medford doesn't have a presence on here so posting here won't have any effect.

Actually, it does have an effect - gives me another maker to put on my "never buy one of these knives" list.

I don't care how great a knife (or any other product) is, if the maker/company screws someone, I don't support that maker/company even in the secondary market.

Secondary market purchases may not DIRECTLY benefit the maker, but said purchases help the maker tangentially by helping to "circulate" his/her wares. This expands the pool of folks exposed to the product in question who can then be suckered into supporting shady business practices, e.g., 100% upfront payments, moving delivery dates, continuing to take orders and payments while extending delivery dates way beyond acceptability.
