Ongoing Details for the 2016 Bladeforums knife.

I too still wish it was going to be a clip blade, BUT, I must admit, the spear in this rendering has some soul! And no matter what, I'm in! 3 years running on the BF knife

Or ,
would it be possible to have an optional bail?
I saw gec bails available from one of the dealers (only available with knife purchase).
I'd love a bail but I know some of us are not so keen on them.
I imagine there would need to be a hole for it so that might double as a lanyard hole. One could purchase the bail separately.
Anyway just a thought .In regardless of bail.
cheers.

I wonder now what the acceptable time limit is before we do a repeat pattern BF Trad forum knife -spear point and bottle opener.

Charlie, the rendering looks really good. really like the pattern and punch. Is the Jigging style settled? I gathered from the other thread that there was consensus for deeper jigging and no worm groove. Like the jigging on post #101.

On reviewing what occurred, that is my fault! I discussed the worm groove with Bill at Great Eastern for some while before we got back to that consensus you mentioned.
He had done some design work on it, and I felt it might be an insult to change horses - he's a busy guy, so I figured we should go with the flow. My apologies for the lack of consultation. But we just cannot change horses too often; it's easy for us, and not so easy in a production situation.
I hope you all will forgive me!
That said, Bill is putting no small effort into bringing some cool wormgroove to us!

Well, at first I was excited about the worm groove but then got a little gun shy after seeing some downright hideous examples. We're all going to have to trust that Bill and crew will give us some nice looking ones. I've seen some examples that I like, so it is possible!

Thanks for your speedy reply Charlie. Agree, don't want to change direction too many times. Hope Bill does a good job. Have seen some ugly wormgroove from Queen. How about the jigging pattern?

This type of jigging is the goal - easier said than done!
We'll see how close it gets this time around!!

This is gonna be one fine looking knife! Thanks, Charlie! And thanks, Barry, for taking on the shipping task... much appreciated!

Guess the bar shield will have rounded ends like the drawing? I prefer the square ends like the example charlie showed

Charlie, whatever you and Bill work out together is A-OK with me and sure to be breathtaking!

Hi Charlie, the jigging style you mention seems close to this 2007 trapper. It's easily the nicest jigging on any GEC knife I own, so a good one to aim for.

In 2007, GEC was a start-up company using bone from Culpepper & Co., among possible other sources. They didn't start using their "in house" produced jig bone until later.

The closest they have come to the Remington is probably the jigging used on the Lick Creek Farmer Jacks, I'm thinkin'.

Charlie's rope knife had some really good jigging. Just a little deeper and it would be close to the Remington.

I agree that the 38 lick creek has excellent jigging.

This knife is going to be awesome! The worm grove sounds good to me as well. I've had some really nice ones in my collection.

After seeing all these great Remingtons, I'm going to put in a request for next year: a bullet shield.
