After seeing the jigging on the burnt orange stainless 15s, I think they'll probably do a fine wormgroove.
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
I'm intrigued, plus I can't wait to see more details about the punch- it looks very robust as compared to some, and truth be told it's the punch that's drawing me in! Wish it was deep red bone, but a deep brown is good too! Now I just hope I'm awake when they go on sale! Perhaps a reminder thread can be formed to warn us just ahead of time to watch Barry's site?
Thanks for everybody's hard work each year!
I have been pestering Bill to do a standard Scout on the #35 pattern, but I can't ask him again until we are closer to 2017, as he might bite my head off!!
Ive never had a "forum" knife....where do you order one?

Thanks Dave!
That reminds me, these won't be on sale until the price is known, typically shortly after production is nearing completion, if that makes any sense. In other words, we don't have a clue as to what to charge, so until we do, they won't be available for sale. With that said, I thinks it's safe to say that there will be plenty of knives to go around, since the numbers have been bumped every year. I would probably ask that you limit your purchase to one or two until everyone has a chance to claim their own. They will be available to our international members as well as to US.
OK, let's have no more discussion on availability or purchasing, please. Sorry Mods. :foot:
I love a good punch/awl. One of the most useful tools imho.
I find it to be the kind of tool that seems like it wouldn't be useful, but always seems to work in a pinch. Camping over the weekend I found that gunk build up in the chambers of my ruger single six 22 was keeping the rounds from sitting correctly. I couldn't get it out with solvent and paper towels, so I scraped it with my Texas Camp Knife awl. I have also used it as a scoring tool, as a prying tool, as a gouging tool (safer than a non locking knife), as a skewer, etc.really? i have one on my SAK but I cant remember off hand how many times ive used it. what do you tend to use it for if you dont mind my asking.
