Ive getting pretty good with the edge pro, it takes a good 3-4 hours per knife but I got that dangerous, too sharp edge. I just r- profiled my spyderco dragonfly g10 zdp189 to about 11 degrees per side, 22 inclusive... I kinda round the tips, why does that happen?

Duly noted on the Damascus, although a CF Blur with CPM-154 would also be kind of awesome. :D

The tips are tricky, you have to be very careful in order to not round them off. When you pass the stone over the tip, you end up with little of the stone supported by any length of edge. Then the tip is passed the center of the stone, and any downward pressure causes the stone to tilt down and round the tip. With the EP, I usually take extra care with the tip, and do small, quick stroke at the tip, not letting the stone get too far off from the point.

Just kidding. I barely used that Lansky. Just wasn't for me. Enjoy it! I think that unless you decide to get the diamond ones, you'll have enough equipment for a long time. Greenie mentioned that when the stones dish out, you can send them back for a replacement under the warranty...I didn't know that, but I'm not knowledgeable about Lansky's service.

Hmmmm....nah. That's just too much. I'd end up feeling obligated to have like 5 different winners then.
 
It was spitting snow earlier, when I was under the hood of the jeep. Seems everytime I am working on a vehicle it starts spittin! Better than laying in 3 ft of it back home though! Gots me new battery in and had my alt checked. Still pumpin out 136 amps! Although I should still have the 150 amp that originally came with it! Damn previous owners! I am going to go pull some parts from the local yard this week. Hopefully I'll find an old dodge work van, they had the 150 amp alts, and I'll keep my current as a backup! After that its rebuilding the front dana 30, bearings all around diff and all and ball joints. Going to be busy!

Oh and my CF comes in and a package from Dave probably mid week along with my cb blur! going to make a back scale for my blue black zing project. I might straighten out the tanto tip and give it a little belly, not sure on that yet though. I am going to polish the liners too.

Me too. Given the sequestration/fiscal cliff stuff and that my job was tied to gov't contracts (I worked at Lockheed) so that is where my expertise lies, I'm not expecting it to get bettter real soon. :o
