Order of KAI Official Hang Out; Part Deux - It's Enrico Palazzo!

Hey Stick, did your 0801 have a bit of break in time? My lockbar is pretty stiff. So it isn't as smooth as my 0600. Or maybe that is what $200 dollars more is getting :D. Still totally happy, just wondering if I can speed it up.

It has significantly worn in since I got it. The detent is still quite hard, but the travel has smoothed out a bit. It was sort of dry feeling initially, and had some squeak. Not it feels more fluid and more polished on the detent interface. It it's not as smooth as the 0600 is, but it has gotten noticeably smoother.

That is about how mine is. Getting smoother as I played with it more today. Great knife.

I like being creepy. It's fun.

I love Wiha Torx drivers. I still need to order a T10 for my 0550's body screws.

So you will oil the pivot of KVT?

I used to put a drop of oil in e pivot of my kvt knives until one day I just wiped it completely clean of all oil and left it dry. Just as smooth as a freshly oiled pivot and it goes A LOT longer without needing to be cleaned. Without oil for lint and dust etc. to stick to and you just blow in the pivot every once in a while and it keeps going smooth.

I blow my 0561's pivot area out several times a week, and it always seems to be functioning properly.

So I just picked up a knife on my desk and couldn't remember if I shared this story. A little while ago I was at my parents house and stumbled upon something amazing in a junk jar of theirs. It's just as rusty and beat up as the day I remember seeing it for the first time and that put a giant smile on my face. It was an old rusty two bladed folding pocket knife with a mother of pearl style handle and blades that had been crudely sharpened on a grinder. I remember seeing my father take it out of his tackle box and was going to toss it in the garbage, that was until he saw the look on my face and decided I was old enough to own my first pocket knife. It isn't a brand name, it wasn't pretty, but it was a knife. Not just any knife but my DAD's knife. It's amazing to find something that you thought you had lost forever.

I'll ask my buddy's where their gf live and then later randomly talk about their house to them.

How's everyone today?

pretty good, anxious for the 0200, and day dreaming of the 0777, in turn settling on the 0770 as my next purchase after the 0200, than pondering the beauty of the 0100, than falling into an 0600 coma, being revived by the 0200 :D

im awaiting a hopefully future purchase of a shun blue steel 10".... I LOVE my Shun knives, they are absolutely stellar
