Oregon Knife Collectors 2025 Show

Wow, it looks like it was a great show! I wish I could have been there to hobnob with folks like Charlie waynorth waynorth ! I could have brought the Ulster harness jack that he expressed interest in so long ago...

I would plead distance as the primary reason I couldn't be there, but if Duncan Campbellclanman Campbellclanman could make it, the 680 miles doesn't seem to cut it for that excuse. I will have to instead plead poverty...

It’s only 900 for me!

It is only 1,260 miles for me.

I've been going to the Eugene knife show for over 30 years and can honestly say that this past one was my favorite of all.
While I did come home with a few knives, hanging out with so many old and new friends was beyond wonderful.
Barrett really came through with a quirky but perfect air b&b that was converted over from an old church.
It proved the ideal gathering spot for our knife friends to converge for tacos, beer, knives, and great conversations in the evenings after the show.
Whoever thought about going to the show this year but didn't, should really try and make it next year.
If Duncan can come all the way from New Zealand, no one else can really claim any excuses. :)

As much of an interesting story as that would be Oldy Oldy , no those are not bullet holes.
This pistol sadly has been "deactivated" by cutting it with a torch in several places, making it inoperable. (by doing so destroyed a piece of history)

It doesn't make it any less interesting however. It was integrally suppressed handgun (with a built in silencer). The High Standard model "HDM" for the O.S.S. during the W.W.2. era.

Thanks for clarifying, I was leaning that way when seeing the mag holder and breach destroyed, but my uneducated mind was thinking it was decommissioned by taking shots at it,but was hoping for more of a storied history which it still may have had.

Ulster HJ??

Yep, this one. I have long wondered about it because the backspring is thicker than the master blade, which usually means monkey business. But the punch looks like an Ulster.

It definitely does, there's still an interesting story behind it. We just might not ever know what happened with this particular one. Like with everything it can get lost with time.
That's why I enjoy seeing y'all talking about the history & sharing personal stories around these old pocket knives here on the porch. Keeping the history alive 👍
This Oregon show thread is a great example, lots of old & historical patterns that I've personally never seen before. Not to mention all the great detailed displays! 😍

Can you please take a pic that shows the open blade against the backspring??

I have just had time to sit down and have a good look through this thread, AMAZING trip!! Worth every penny - Bladeforums friends this is such a great show. 😊👍
Up at 2:30 this morning, I’m slightly into my 20 hours flying, then add on top of that - add another 17 hours combined in the terribly long waiting times at the Airports on the way home - just to add salt into the wound I can’t sleep on a plane so I am awake for all that time 😔
I just Googled the Miles from Auckland Airport to Portland = 6,891.00 miles not including my flight to Auckland from Napier and the trip from Portland to Eugene. I’m starting to really feel it now.

Thank you Dan for taking all these photos my friend and for the time in posting these and sharing the great tables. 👍
