Oregon Knife Collectors 2025 Show

I enjoyed the show, especially seeing old friends. I was sitting at my good friend's table, Sidehill Gouger, and a young man stopped by the table, read his name tag and said I had been reading about him. Charlie Campagna had written about Rhidian Knives, and here was the maker in person. He came by two times and had a nice conversation with him on both occasions, nice young man. John

Hey John!! Sorry I didn't get to say hello at the Show!

1000009133.jpg1000009136.jpgI agree with everyone who says that the best part of the Eugene show how are the people.
With that said... Here are two photos of the knives that I picked up at the show. One is in sunlight and one is in shadow. I couldn't decide which one showed the knives better so I posted both of them.

Wow!!! Great group of knives. Harness Jack heaven. That Rhidian auto is so cool too. Looks like a Charlie stockpile of some of his greatest hits.

You've brought it all back, Duncan!! It was a wonderful time!! It sounds like you had a great, extended adventure!!

I see I've neglected to give you credit for finding that Relic D-E, Duncan!! It is exactly what I would have picked up, had I not been chained to my table!!!

Thanks so much for that knife! Rhidian looked at it, and mused that it might make a nice Tony Bose style restoration, with new blades!! But I think I will keep it the way it is!!
Hey Charlie- it’s all good, since I was at the Queen show / GEC Rendezvous, I always keep an eye out for the really old Barlows that may be worn ( or extremely well loved ) to heck but they may have a significant Bolster- I think I picked up 2 or 3 real old Barlows at the Queen show- either yourself or John got them 👍
Barlows being recognised as a fonder of the working man’s knife I think they are really cool and have always admired yours, John’s passion for picking up these oldies. Now of course everyone knows what a Barlow is because of the Famous TC’s 🤩.

It was nice to meet and talk with you 👍 - I had to really control myself not buying any of the available Harness Jacks that were available at extremely decent prices at the “ Very Cool Corner “ of the Eugene show.
I agree with our good friend Paul, that Rhidian Auto is drop- dead gorgeous!

I loved your display and it was great seeing you get recognised for your hard work. 😓

😊👍

I agree. The offerings were a plenty in that corner. Half of mine came from said corner 😂

It was great to meet and talk with you as well. I would love to see some of the harness jacks from your collection. Are they posted anywhere on the forum? Hope you have recovered from your ridiculous travels but as you know it was worth it. By the way me and my friend Larry were referring to it as THE corner. Because no other corner mattered. Lol

Just landed in NZ after a torturous flight from San Francisco, so time to catch up.
Luger1952 Luger1952 I am really sorry you didn’t make it to the show, I was looking forward to meeting you, I wish you all the very best of Health matey. 😊👍

I was also really disappointed that paulhilborn paulhilborn couldn't make it to the show as well, right now is a very busy time arranging a send away for that great guy Mr Russell Hilborn. 😔

Glad you made it home ok, Duncan. It was great to hang out. Looking forward to the next time whenever that might be.

It was great banter at the show, meet Anthony Berg and having the privilege to buy some knives off him was great- man… talk about a sling match - mind you it was mostly abuse towards the poor innocent Kiwi 🤣
No in all honesty the banter session was lengthy and I think it tired us both out - to the degree where I am sure Anthony doubled his prices when it came time to totalling up and I failed to see that clever move. 🤣😂
In all seriousness- Anthony has an outstanding collection of his own and an incredible amount of very nice knives for sale and Anthony is extremely fair with his pricing. What a pleasure it was meeting that great guy.

My choice pick from Anthony was a New York Knife Harness Jack, Clip blade and the J.E.Fuller Spiral Punch with gorgeous Bone and a Scout Shield.

I was a little unsure of this Shield on this knife - simply only because I had not seen this example before, I wasn’t worried about the knife itself as everything about it rang true - big time!

A couple of days ago our good friend Neal and I were sitting talking knives in his wonderful home town and he pulled out a copy of the Catalog page he had found and copied for me and placed it on the cafe table - Just awesome - Thank you so much for that Neal! 🙏

Neal, my friend, a massive Thank you for being a wonderful host and showing me around the City of 10,000 Lakes - Stunning to say the least !! 🤩

A big thank also to Barrett for joining us for lunch a couple of times- in fact Barrett said he would pay for lunch the last time - Neal and I looked at each other with glee, and of course in this situation the most natural thing to do is to honour Barrett’s kind act and order twice as much as we needed including Beer, but when we were near ready to settle up, there was a huge gust of wind - and with the serviettes slowly coming to rest on the floor - Barrett had disappeared- very similar to The Flash!

🤣😂🤣

Seriously - he tried, but I beat him to it - two great Gents from that place if the World.

Edited: predictive text takes over and wins at times. 😔

Meeting the Custom Knife makers there in the “Cool Corner” both Rhidian and Mike was awesome.
Mike stayed with us in the Church, I noted that the lights kinda dimmed in the Church when Mike walked in and it got really cold - but when the others walked in the lights came right and it warmed up- that was weird. 🤣

Seriously it was a real pleasure meeting and chatting to both Mike and Rhidian. It was fun and it was also informative, I came home with a M Moran knife - well fingers crossed it makes it here via post.
Thanks to Charlie and Rhidian I have one of the original Sheep’s Last Dip Knives at home- and man that is a knife!!
So too is the Moran Spear Point Barlow I purchased, so beautifully executed- amazing precision 😱

I actually took a day and a half trying to make a decision - but deep down I knew I had made my choice - so glad I did. Let’s have a look at it together once it gets home, as well as a few others as well as a couple of “ from the Heart Knives”
😊👍

One more flight in about one hour to get home, Sleep time coming up - yay! 🛌

That was a lot of traveling, Duncan. I don't think I could take that much airplane time. Makes my 21 hours of driving seem kind of piddly.
Very much looking forward to seeing photos of your knives.
