Oregon SHOW!!

I agree! :thumbsup::thumbsup:
I thoroughly enjoy the photo reports from events like this. When I was a kid, the phone company had ads that stated that "Long Distance is the next best thing to being there". But a thread like this is WAY better than a phone call! :D

Great show! I've post my review in the "General" forum, mainly because I'd like more folks to know about this show. It was good to see everyone, I made some new friends, looked at all the display, spent some time with old acquaintances, made a nuisance of myself at Charlie's table, and picked up a couple knives that were on my list. That makes for a pretty darn good weekend despite almost 10 hours of being on the road. Next year I'm going to take the time to hit all the antique shops and flea markets on the way down. Which means I'll have to leave a couple days early...

Here's one I picked up, and I'm already kicking myself for not getting another...

I haven't been to show like this for quite some time, I will have to say it was quite the sensory overload... Large crowds of people are not really my thing but it certainly was a pleasure to attend with my two kids and biological dad. We saw some terrific collections, some outstanding knives from some makers, and we got to meet some great guys. Charlie ( waynorth waynorth ), Dave ( knowtracks knowtracks ), and Barry ( gunstockjack gunstockjack ), it was a real pleasure to meet you guys and I only regret not being able to hang out with you guys longer. There were sooooo many people and I felt if I hung out for extended periods of time at your tables, I would be preventing some sales for you guys, especially with my kids in tow.

In any case, it was a good time, though I somehow managed to not spend any money.... :eek:. Just as well, I suppose, I am in the middle of purchasing a house...

Dave gave my kids a couple of terrific vintage camp knives and they couldn't be more thrilled. I'll throw a picture in here at some point.

Had a very good time at the show!. Also picked up some nice knives. It was greet to visit with waynorth, knowtracks, duffer, and gunstockjack again. Galvanic1882 has sold me some very nice knives and it was great to meet him face to face and hang out a bit. Also great to again meet up with some of the guys who are on AAPK, but don't post on here. Here are some of the pics from the show and some of the BladeForums members. These were from the members day on Friday and some of the sellers were not set up yet. The crowd was light on Friday, but picked up a lot on Saturday

I have more pictures of all the displays, which I will post when I am home on my own computer. Below are some quick pics of my haul from the show. I have no idea why I can't get the first one to post the right way up? Charlie also very generously gifted me a beautiful wall hanging display case, which I intend to fill with my Keen Kutters. I will start a separate thread to show it once it is full and on my wall. I will also post more pictures of my knives, in the appropriate threads, once I am home.
Dan
edit: Forgot to mention that Lloyd (duffer) was also very generous to me. He gifted me the yellow handled Keen Kutter peanut. Lloyd, apologies for the oversight.

Nice photos and awesome knife scores Dan :thumbsup: :thumbsup: ... All the knives are sweet (the boxes too) but that Keen Kutter Hunter is a real stunner and the Simmons Hdwe barehead teardrop jack with jigged bone (I think the stamp is Simmons - 2nd photo and 2nd knife down) is very very cool :cool: ... Looks like a great time - lots of good people and nice knives (some nice boys knives & cool display in the photos above too :D - Was that your display Charlie & Dave? :thumbsup:) ;) .... I hope I can make it one of these years....

Very neat! looking good Charlie! shame that is so far from NYC, would love to have picked one of those up from you in person!

Thanks again for posting the pics guys, great to see everyone having a good time, and there are some fabulous knives too :) Charlie seems to get younger every year! :)

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments and likes. Sorry, forgot to add any commentary regarding the Boy's Knife display, it was done by Knowtracks and Waynorth. They won an award for it and the third picture down in that post is the kukhri, which was Knowtrack's share of the prize for the award.
To put the sizes of the knives I posted into perspective: the largest Keen Kutter jack (bottom in first photo) is just shy of 4" closed length, the Keen Kutter dogleg jack is 3 1/2" closed length.

Wow oh wow nice pics guys, those soup bones are stunners!! I feel absolutely silly that I did not go down, I would love to meet and shake hands with some fellow forum members. I am only about 2 hours away as well. Next year priority #1!
