OT: Fiddlebacks & Firearms

Got a good look at the Freedom Arms 454 and that "beast" S&W 500 and thought I'd show my largest wheel gun. Ruger Super Redhawk, .44mag with some custom work done on the action and frame. With the Ruger is one of my favorite Fiddlebacks, the KPH. This one is CPM 154 to match the Ruger and Leupold stainless.

Oops, guess I'm still an ignoramus when it comes some of the knife terms. I didn't notice the knives were all the same maker.

How bout this?

I HATE YOU!!!! i am absolutely petrified of spiders and that about gave me a heart attack. Ironically i spend most of my forum time here!!! Little known fact for my FB brethren i picked up my early FBs off of his licensed dealers because I got freaked out everytime i saw Andy's avatar. it took me a solid 6-7 months before i could participate in a FB Friday. Also, thanks to some guy in the Spyderco Forum, his sig with beady spydie eyes caused me to break my computer when i chunked it aside in shear and utter terror.

Seriously. its sad.

However, that picture looks like a face hugger from Alien and it ups the terror by about 1,000,000X

This is one of the funniest things I've ever read!

Awesome group Ken -- all great choices! Cant go wrong with either of the Smiths' and the Dan Wesson is just downright BAD!

Martin

Wow Martin -- FANTASTIC pics; two beastly hand cannons there for sure! My local shop has one of the 500s, and I recently had the pleasure of handling it -- very cool piece for sure!

Dadgummit! We had the same thread in a gun forum a few months back, but I've deleted the pics from my phone since the, except this one:

Some folks go for black rifles, but I call this my red rifle, a Mosin Nagant 91/30, ex-sniper (has 2 spot-welded holes in the side of the receiver where the scope mount attached)

It has a bayonet but no pic of it, so I'll satisfy the knife part with my Puma Bowie.

Thanks for participating -- the MN is a piece of history right there; quite a few of the guys at my club will still shoot these on the weekends. The Puma is quite nice as well; my Grandfather used to collect their knives.

Love seeing all these. I don't have anything classic or exotic to add. But I can add a couple of hard workers in black.

M&P9 and Longfellow.

Nathan, I had my M&P45c out at the range this weekend -- what a great platform, huh? I'm digging the black burlap look with black firearms... I might need to explore obtaining some! Also, the Longfellow is really intriguing me as a profile -- given its scarcity, I'm not sure if I'll be getting my hands on one anytime soon, but I really like the looks and extended ergos; appears to be a comfortable knife!

Another Wheelgun for ya

Beautiful contribution VASticks; thanks for sharing -- can't go wrong with a Ruger (or a bushfinger ;))

Here is my collection of tan stuff... I keep hoping to take some pics outside but life isn't on the same schedule this week. Oh and a couple Benelli's since it's going under M4Super90, must be a guy after my own heart.

Ahhhh...I sure miss living in Arizona. Land of the free and home of the well-armed! That is some very nice hardware that you have there Phillip. I am glad to see that you also acquired a nice Ruby Bushcrafter. That has been on your wish list for a while.

All you need now is a Light Saber to complete the collection. :)

Thanks Phil. No light saber, but I'll post a picture of my phaser for you tomorrow. ;)

The photo composition on these is difficult. I have lots of neat toys, but when you put a knife next to them you can't see the knife very well. I guess I need some larger Fiddlebacks.... maybe a sapphire Bishop next to something like this:

Simply awesome stuff in the last posts! The photo with matching blue could easily be a magazine cover as could the matching tan.

Awesome set Rick -- I'm really digging how the KPH fits into the mix; that knife seriously has great lines. The Ruger topped with the Leupold is just plain beautiful and I'm sure is a joy to shoot from a rest or out in the field

You sir are a madman. That is an INSANE :eek: collection you have just right there -- I'm not quite sure where to start, but LOTS of class 3 goodness -- wow! Thanks for participating; beautiful knives and for sure a spectacular showing of quality arms. Who makes the 12" AR; is that a Knight's?

I thought this was a nice lesson on how great America is, (as sometimes we really do take it for granted). I think it was 2 years ago, during the Summer Olympics there was a big story on this pregnant woman from India competing in shooting at the olympics. Because of the coverage, my wife was made aware that shooting was even an olympic event. She wanted to watch and see how the pregnant woman did in her even, and in the process of watching she noticed that the only participants were American or Indian. There were a few more, but it brought her to ask why are there so few countries competing in these events.

Then it dawned on me. Few countries have the freedom to bear arms like we've been granted. It has to be a freedom provided at a very young age to get Olympic good at shooting. Something that unfortunately, very few countries have that luxury. It was a good feeling, and one i was happy to share with the Mrs. For once, she actually understood the privilege that it is to own and use a firearm in this day and age.

Just a thought...

A good observation and thank you for sharing. I sure do miss the right to bear arms here. They don't allow the sale of firearms to the mass population. Some people in the countryside have .22s or 13 gauge shotguns. The only handguns are typically acquired from a very small black market. Those firearms are old and I'd be scared to fire many of them. The military and police are the only people legally allowed to carry, and carry they do! It is a public display of power. We're armed and you are not type attitude. Just for reference, 6 years ago 1 .22 cartridge cost $1 US. Crazy!!!

I love that when I return home, I'm able to get re-licensed to conceal carry in our great nation!
