My favorite are Ruger Mark 3s. Ruger is great at upgrading one thing that makes the gun better and 4 things that make it worse. Picked up a Mark 3 stainless bull barrel when the mark 4s came out before they all disappeared. Love the relocation of the mag release but I had to replace the magazine disconnect and the loaded chamber indicator to make it the way it should be. They messed up the Mark 4 enough that I will not own one.

whats wrong with ruger mark 4? I was thinking of getting one.

Maybe you should check out the New Wilson EDC X9...15 plus 1 in 9mm.
Designed from the ground up by Bill Wilson. First time I shot it was with Bill Wilson and Ken Hackathorn...I ordered 3 ;)
One gets here tomorrow, No Rail, Gold Bead, Large Back Strap, Medium Trigger set at 3 1/4lb, Battle Worn Finish in Black / Bronze with Dirty Olive Grips.
Stop by and we'll go shooting or we could meet at Skunks, he has one also.
 
BTW..I hate G-locks, the only reason I own one is it was a gift and you can't sell gifts...
Why would I carry a POS when I can carry a SuperGrade an Ed Brown or another Wilson.

Just went on their site. WOW!!! Typical quality that Wilson provides is evident even in pics. By the way, I hate rails on 1911's. Totally ruins the looks and I don't mount lights there anyway.
 
I am partial to my 9mm CZ-85 combat. I love that gun, adjustable sights and the icing on the cake is they are assembled here in Kansas City. A nice hunk of steel as well, with only plastic grips.

Most likely work fine but I hate the huge plastic break down button they added and the ugly pivot. They fixed non problems just because people would not educate themselves on how to field strip them. I have a Glock and like it for what it is but on a all metal gun IMO it should be all metal. So many are adding plastic parts now.

I want one bad! Right now it’s like an 8 month wait for them from Wilson. Was hunting for one for when I got back to TX in a couple weeks but no luck so far.

Skipped out on the mark3. I have a mark2 slab side. I was going to get a mark 4 slab side, but the hunter is starting to appeal to me also.
 
Just about got a Mark 3 hunter a couple weeks ago. I passed on it to go ahead and get into the Kimber TLE ll.
If you get a Mark 3 try replacing the magazine disconnect with a Tamdemkross barrel bushing and the loaded chamber indicator with one of their filler tabs. Makes for a much better pistol.
I will admit the loaded chamber indicator is mostly for looks but the barrel bushing replacement gives a much better trigger pull,mags drop free and insert easier and allows the pistol to be fired without the mag. Just like the Mark ll but with a side button mag release.

Why buy one really nice gun to carry when you can have 5+ Glocks.

(1) Bedroom Night Stand
(1) Hidden In House
(1) On Person
(1) In Vehicle
(1) In Spouse's Vehicle.

If you have ONE you have NONE......

very good point. But Chuck does not have just one, lol.

Glocks have become the modern 1911 in my opinion. As a combat gun, they have set the standard. I have an original glock 21 from 1992 and I recently sold off my original glock 19 from the same time. Both of those guns have run thousands of rounds. I have never had a FTF of any kind with all brands of ammo in nearly 25k rounds in the 21 and closer to 50k rounds in the g19. My 1999 G22 had over 30k rounds with no FTF. My current G23 has had 15k rounds in 7 years with no FTF's. Not one. There are types of ammo that will give 1911's problems. The accuracy of a good 1911 is almost impossible to beat. They are two guns with different ideology. I think that the 1911 is more like the M16, accurate but can be finicky, and the Glock is more like the AK-47 not as accurate but reliable to the extreme.

I remember in the 90's that Glock had an early G19 that had gone 357k rounds before it had one issue and if I remember it was just a trigger spring. Fixed with $2. Since then, I have seen glocks run well over 300k rounds routinely without issue. One guy had over 750k rounds. Glocks have proven themselves enough that they have become the standard by which all modern combat handguns are measured.
Having said all that, it is still ugly, lol. The 1911 and the Hi-power are the two sexiest guns ever made. Why Browning stopped making the hi-power is beyond me.
 
I have been eyeing up Wilson Combat the past couple years. This damn threat will have me looking seriously again. Ha ha
 
Slightly off topic.... I live in Florida, and I am absolutely livid over this gun bill being signed. There ar so many problems with it, I couldn’t even explain it all. TFB has a post that explains the very real issues with the wording of the Bumpstock Ban section, which is huge. What they don’t get into is the mental health section, and how the Baker Act works here. It only takes three people to get you committed for three days. If that happens now, they can take your guns and prevent you from legally buying any others. While not overwhelmingly common, people abusing this is not unheard of. Say my neighbor hates me because my dog pooped on his yard. If he has two friends, they can strip me of not only my freedom for three days, but they can now also strip me of my second amendment rights. I am super p1$$3d :mad::mad::mad::mad:
