OT - Watches !!

Because I’m in the bush nearly everyday of my life I wear a belt watch, wrist watches tend to get snagged up on tree branches or banged on rocks.

Here’s the belt watch.

I do however have a Sunday best going out watch. :D

Love that Seamaster!

.

When I was into watchs, Omega was always though of as the best bang for the buck in a fine watch. If (well when) I buy another watch it will be an Omega!

Can Busse do a micarta bezel?

My girlfriend gave me a Rolex Submariner when I graduated from college in 1978. Of course I married her! That was my EDC until I stumbled into mil watch forums two years ago. I got a Traser H3 in titanium as a beater ( and because it is just cool ;) ) Then I picked up a Sinn 142. Obviously, I 'needed' a winder, and stumbled into a great deal on an Eilux triple. So I will have room for that IWC Portofino :D .

Hmmm. Rolex, IWC, Sinn, Damasko, Nomos. Most of my cars have been VW. I really like that new Audi A3. Always wanted a 911, althought at new Cayman is looking good. Collected more than a few Bertram Hen and Rooster knives. Glock M21. Seems like I got a Germanic thing going on.

I think it is the design ethos. Clean, purposeful. Form follows function.

Any other German knives I should know about?

Those Traser H3s are cool, but a non-starter for me. The DOE gets cranky about "extra" radioactivity in our work area.

At work I get good use out of a good 'ol Timex Expedition with date. Couldn't live without the date! The last one I bought even has a perpetual calender...talk about the bee's knees!

Away from work I wear a stainless Citizen Nighthawk. I love the weight of stainless, and large diameters rock!

My dream watch would be a Breitling B2 or Super Avenger:cool:

Damn Kev! I had to look up the super avenger. $3100-$9000 is a heck of a lot of knives man. Heck you could order a couple of full on Jerry made customs for that!!!!!! Not to mention Jody would castrate you!!! :D

I have for the past 7 years wore a Citizen WR200 Eco Drive Titanium

very sweet,,never have to wind it,,the face of the watch is a solar panel and it only takes a little light to power this sucker for a month...

plus the watch body and band is made of Titanium with some gold plating :jerkit:

Not a Busse guy, but feel naked without a good watch on the wrist and knife in the pocket. Omega Constellation for business meetings, and shopping for a Breitling Colt GMT Automatic for "edc" and flying. Also, it goes better with tactical style knives!

Blancpain Flyback Chronograph in stainless (safe queen)

I currently have:
1) Blancpain Rose Gold Aqualung
2) Minerva Pythagore 2
3) Doxa 250T
4) St. Moritz Pathfinder for daily wear.

Watches I would like to have:
1) Phillipe Dufour
2) Roger Dubuis
3) Audemars Piguet

Wear my Omega Seamaster everyday except when I sleep. Since I'm a mechanic this watch gets a real beating everyday and gets banged around alot. Just some light scratches on the bezel but the crystal is completely scratch free just like the day it was brand new. :)

I really like the self-winding feature since I don't have to buy batteries.

No way! $9000 is for the bling man! The plain ugly stainless ones are the shiznit, and at <$3000 it's just a matter of which Busses will be sacrificed;)

Check how huge the Super Avenger is! That ain't no twiggy man's watch!

The Hercules is nice and huge also but it does not have the calender:(

You have some nice stuff....

The end all watch for me would be a A Lange and Sohne. But in their most simple configuration they are about $16,000.

Well when you decide which one is to be sacrificed, you let me know and we'll keep it in the family. :D

Since you bastids have me thinking of watches, my problem with them are the candy arsed spring loaded pins that hold the bands on. I have a Seiko kinetic, which has sat dormant for a year now. I have gone through two pins on this mother and I am tired of it. I want some screws or a solid post on mine and that's all there is to it. On that note, I did some looking and found this one. I like the general style and it has the screws to hold the band on. And it is under way under a grand.
O & W 3077

Anyone have any experience with the O & W brand? Opinions?
