Our "Front Porch" ....

The greatest wealth is gained from doing what you love every day, if you can do what you love as your career you never work a single day.... I know I messed that up but you get my meaning! Your cook needs to play guitar as much as possible... let him know the game is not over, he has to keep playing! Wish him luck for me......

Guys, I firmly believe that if each were employed to take full advantage of their true talents and abilities....and provided the resources to succeed...the World would be a much better place.

If what I've gathered around here is right (or close to), I think I'm younger than most of y'all. I'm a few years older than Rubi's son, and I'm still in the part of life where my career is up in the air. It's a depressing place to be honestly. I went to a good college with a bunch of folks who didn't even come close to getting the jobs they were expecting or would have a few years earlier. I went to law school with a bunch of people who make way less than the guys I went to high school with who work in the oil fields- only with 150k of education debt. I finally decided a few years ago to hell with everything else. You have to try and find some way of being happy with yourself, what you do, and your life (hence I went to law school but I'm definitely not a lawyer). I'm fortunate enough to not have anyone depending on me, so my life choices affect me and me alone. I wish your friend well and I really hope he can find a way to be both happy and satisfied which isn't so easy these days.

I second both parts of that sentiment. Otherwise, I'll refrain from voicing my frustrations with how I think things have been going in our country for a long time now.

Instead, I'll post a pic of my desk as I was tinkering with my newest XM - the black DLC wharnie. As great as it came, I couldn't just let it be, had to deck it out myself.. Anyway, I had stepped away to do something and when I came back to my desk I was just tickled by the awesome assortment of "stuff" on my desk - truly one of my happy places (if I can't be in the woods or on a boat fishing)... :)

(Oh, this pic was not posed or arranged in advance - just what it happened to have on it at the time ;) )

^ That is an awesome assortment Shane. Great setup and very cool pic. I can't leave my XMs alone either buddy. All of the great accessories are one of the many reasons these knives appeal to me so much. I have a driving desire to make things uniquely my own (knives, trucks, etc). I have 5 packages inbound as we speak so that i can properly deck out my new spearpoint. :) I can't wait to see what you decide to do with that DLC wharnie! Decisions decisions.

I could not agree more with you fellas. Xm's are just so much fun also, I love changing out scales and other accessories all the time. I probably need to pick up a few extra scale screw packages since I'm always unscrewing and tightening them.

AK - That is a nice picture! That black DLC wharnie is pretty sweet. I'd love to have a black DLC 3" slicer someday (I know you have one ;) ).

NJ - You do have someone who depends on you bro! This guy. I'm depending on YOU to take good care of that textured CF scale my man. Good times

Every once in awhile I feel like I get to spread the good word to those outside our fold. I, like all of y'all, love guns, knives, and gear all around. For better or worse, where I live all men and a decent amount of women carry knives, everyone shoots, and the cowboy culture prevails. My uncle married a girl from California who grew up on beachs and was totally unfamiliar to our lifestyle. Today our whole clan went out shooting- letting her try everything from single action army's, AR-15s, 1911s, .357 highway patrol, .38 special and anything else we had laying around. Total blast and she loved it. Later this evening I was opening a box up with my Hinderer and she asked to see it (somewho has never owned a folder). After 5 minutes of playing with it and learning how a flipper works (and a few pictures of different scale options), she decided she has to have one and didn't bat an eye at the price tag. From someone who'd never owned a knife to a Hinderer fan in five minutes. I think I'll mark this as a good day.

^^ Sounds like a great way to spend the day! It's after noon, and even if it wasn't just mix in some tomato juice and all is well ;)

I'm off today too - working on my master's paper, tumbling some brass, and waiting on the mailman... No beer for me yet, still in coffee mode. But, soon...

Well gents it looks like some money is missing. I put $300 in an envelope a while back, had the in-laws come over so my wife cleaned up the house, and she thinks it may have been thrown out. The only other place I can think of that where the money could be is here.......

Thanks man. No luck so far. My XM did a great job cutting through the tie strings! Trying to sty positive. Haha

Thanks Justin. I love this 3"! Really want more. This Hinderer addiction is crazy. I want more, more, more....more......

Ah man, that sucks - sorry to hear.. g'luck finding it!! (Of course, that'll happen AFTER you dig through the trash and you find it sitting on top of the fridge or something..)

Well P92 if it wasn't in the trash there still is hope, either way don't get down on the wife or blame her, it is easy to be supportive and a good partner when things go well, however when there are some bumps as this and you behave like a good husband it will pay dividends beyond the money that is missing. Hopefully it was misplaced, good luck pal. And that 3 inch is very sweet!
