Our "Front Porch" ....

You too rubi. We're supposed to get freezing rain and 4 in of snow. :( go away old man winter!!

I will send you detailed instructions on a "Go away Old Man Winter" Co-ordinated Dance/Bon-Fire/Donut Sacrifice ritual I am sponsoring for Sunday 3/30
Enough is enough..... granted there will be a loss of Donuts but.... this has to end.
Get some tinfoil, couple sheets of luan and some duct tape ready and just wait for further instructions.
Winter is about to end whether it likes it or not.

^^^ Ugh, that sucks. It's 40 and sunny here, days are getting longer - 5 minutes/day!!

I am, however, waiting for the other shoe - I'm guessing it'll dump on us mid-May...

Shane,

Am I wrong or did we like.... switch winters this year? You are in (ummm) Alaska right? Seems like every day/week/month we were experiencing apocolyptic sensory depriving, life ending COLD and MISERY.... You were like " Not too bad here today, Sunny and mid 40's" Was I dreaming?

I agree. I'm in the southeast and there were many days this winter that our low was 10 degrees colder than Anchorage.

Rubi, I'm ok with it ;)

Working on a new fishing boat, hopefully have that next weekend in time for the shrimp season opener on 15 Apr and spring black bear a month after that!

Can't wait to see some green!!

Old man winter has been shy here this year. We need some more precipitation, it's probably going to be another drought year... 60 today but cloudy, we've had some rainy/snow storms on and off then some sunshine.

I will so this donut sacrificial go away old man winter dance to help you guys out :D

My Friend..... You with a Fishing Boat is music to my ears. ANY Friend of mine that can be spending time on a Fishing Boat is" happy happy " to me.
That is great news indeed.

Thanks Rubi! Me as well, I'm never quite so happy as when I'm in the sound (Prince William that is) with shrimp pots soaking and a line in the water! (and a beer in hand, cigar in mouth, a little Jimmy Buffet (or Johnny Cash depending on my mood) on the music box…) Man, I'm getting excited!!

Open invite if anyone ever wanders up this way, I know it's just right around the corner right?!

^^ Yeah yeah, Florida, sunshine, blah blah :D

I actually like snow, but I also like it when it goes away for several months ;)

I grew up in AZ, where it's sunny ALL THE TIME. I think that's why I actually like dreary, foggy, drizzly weather - change of pace and all.

Although, I really wish I had given more serious thought to the Monkey Muster that just happened, this time of year in AZ is really hard to beat..

Yeah, I was quite envious of the pics Rick and Rob were posting, winter time in AZ is VERY comfortable. Sweatshirt in the morning, and down to a t-shirt around noon. I miss it, and one of my goals is to live there in 5-10 years.

It was 50's here today, and supposed to be 60's tomorrow. I hope I didn't jinx myself by taking the snow tires off my Civic today. :o

Yeah looks like it was a great event! Blade is next on my list! Nice and close to home!

I was this { } close to getting to Blade this year, I stupidly signed up for a Mud Run in town over theses dates.. Then again, that might get trumped by the bear hunt depending on how May goes..

I haven't given up hope for either G6 or perhaps SHOT/TKI yet.. although those are both a bit downstream..

Might have to make the drive to the GTG this year. Would be cool to meet more of the guys on here in person.

AZ was always at the top of our "permanent home" list when we retire until we fell in love with AK. Now we're toying with the snowbird idea of summers in AK and winters in AZ..

The Hinderer GTG is always on my list.

I'd love to make it to one, but without more lead time it's tough to make it there from here..

Me too. I would love to make the trip from MS! It would be nice to see Rick, Rob, and crew in their zone. I bet it's just a cool, relaxing time with some good folks (and xm's, of course)!

Handshake was today, should finish up with the bank tomorrow, hopefully in my possession by this weekend!!

Just in time for the PWS (Prince William Sound) shrimping season opener in two weeks, or as we like to call it - SHRIMPAPALOOZA!!!!

That's so cool Shane. Congrats buddy. I can't wait to see pics!!! I grew up in the adirondacks and was on a boat pretty much every weekend that the weather allowed. It is such an awesome feeling of freedom. I'm really happy for you. I'm in the process of restoring a 1940 Thompson myself but its probably going to be a year or two before I'm done and its seaworthy. I want my kids to have the same experiences I had when I was their age. The memories are priceless.
