Yes it will. The whole week has been a whirlwind. I'm hoping to have the Working Finish Wharnie on Saturday.

I've been good lately! I have actually held myself off of a few new toys that I've been eyeing and trying to keep my eyes on a few bigger ticket items I want. No custom Hinderers or new firearms if I blow all of my gear budget on a bunch of smaller things that I don't really need. A few days ago I noticed one of my longest EDCed items is slowly and literally coming unraveled. It was a gift from an old girlfriend who meant and still means a lot to me, it has been with me through the second half of undergrad and then grad school, and it has supported keys from my old jeep and my new truck. I'd like to say that I'm not the sentimental type, but that just wouldn't be true. It has earned it's retirement position in my valet box, where it will soon reside except for certain occasions. Oh and "it" is my old Smathers and Branson key fob.

I've decided that this occasion requires I find a replacement, and thought I'd see if yall have any suggestions. I've thought about buying a new, similar one from S&B, but I don't think it would be the same and pretty quickly dismissed that idea. I also thought about retiring it and just carrying my keys, but I actually use the largish fob to retrieve my keys. My top two contenders at the moment are the KeyBar and the XM tool. The KeyBar is cool, but I'm not sure I want anymore clips on my pants- I'm not even crazy about having two. The XM tool is always an option and might help in retrieval, but I really haven't found a need for the tool in disassembling my XM. If yall have any suggestions, I'm all ears. If I'm going to break my gear buying/trading fast and simultaneously replace something with sentimental value, I want it to be for something worthwhile.
 
Steel Flame Dog Tag. Hinderer has their own version, but there are lots of different one's. And you can customize some of them with your name or saying. Good luck!

Thanks KJ! I actually forgot to mention the SF tag, but had been considering it! I'm weirdly attached to this thing, so I've been looking at tons of stuff. I was concerned that the the SF tag might be a bit small, but I though about getting that and a fob that my favorite author sells (it's related to his most recent short story- it may be gimmicky, but I sort of like it).
 
I love my SF tags! Carry several with me on my keychain. My first (Hinderer Horse) was gifted to me by Jim Howe with one of my purchases. The Steel Flame community is a family similar to the Hinderer Herd. Always doing good to help out others. I carry them with pride just like my Hinderers.

Double crusader to remind me of my kids daily and how as a parent you are constantly loving and looking out for them.
Crusader Shield with my initials and my soon to be wife's initials for the same reason.
Fearless Resolve Crusader to remind me to stay focused and determined to do the right thing for others no matter what.
US Flag Don't Tread for OBVIOUS reasons ;)
Hinderer Tag and Knife is good tag for a hobby and community I feel truly blessed to be a part of.

OK, fingers crossed fellas - I just interviewed for a Lt Col's billet that just opened up in my Sq. I'm fairly confident, but good vibes are always welcome :)

That'll be step one, step two will be my actual promotion board the end of Apr or beginning of May… If I get picked up for this one, there WILL be a party (step 4)!

Shane. I only ever had respect for Officers and Senior NCO's that put the welfare of the Men and Women in their charge above everything.
Can only imagine you are such a Leader so, the rest will work out for the best.
For that I am happy.
