Man, I was just waiting for a good April Fool's Day joke in the Hinderer Forum! Saw the Pond Scum guy on the exchange! For us Hinderer guys, that might have been a step toooooo far ;)
 
I know I almost had a heart attack when I saw the word pond scale in that sales thread! I was all over that. I was pretty disappointed. Haha I thought my time had finally come!!
 
Well. The Wharncliffe that I just got might be my last Hinderer for a while... It isn't due to lack of desire. It is because my Wife and I are going to have a baby!! We are both "late starters". Both in our 30's with no children. We got married a year and a half ago and have been trying for 5 months. Well we just found out this morning that the test was finally positive!!! I am super excited:) Just wanted to share with you all. I know it is a little early to start telling people but I just need to share that information with someone, why not the Herd??? You guys won't tell anyone will you??:)
 
Wow!!!! That's awesome news buddy!!! Congratulations to you and your wife. There is nothing better in life than being a parent. I stare at my little girls everyday in awe. I am so happy for you guys! What an exciting time and a wild ride you have coming my friend. Take it all in and enjoy every little moment. Oh and tell your wife she is beautiful everyday when she is pregnant and spoil her rotten. Trust me. She's got your friggin kid in there!
 
Michael!!! That's freaking awesome brother! Congratulations! I am super excited for you. Haha! Wooo!! My wife and I are late starters as well. Just bought a house a year ago, and I'm in my 30's, my wife isn't yet. I'm trying to plague the earth with my off spring as well :D.

Thanks guys. The way I see it, my wife and I are good, productive members of society and we are going to do everything in our powers to ensure our children are too!

Congrats, we are expecting our third, we were also late to the game and I have two girls, our third (and probably last) is due in July and I'll be 42.

Yes, I know I am insane.
 
Wow RDA!!! I'm 39 and I while I wish that I had more when I was younger, not sure I could start another one now. Sure do miss the little ones running around. Kids are amazing. Congrats to you both!

I'm 45 and have twin 5 year old boys. My life is all about the boys. This year I'll be coaching their T-Ball team. I'm a firm believer that it's better to have children when you're ready. Age does not matter too much.


I love being a "Dad" and wouldn't change a thing.

Good news Rich, my three are grown up and out of the house. My two daughters are strategically domiciled in two locations that host knife shows, so I get to see them and hang out with the herd a couple times a year, sweet. And nothing better than hanging out with my son doing guy stuff!

Congratulations to the Fathers and Fathers-To-Be for the "Inbounds" :) Seems like (for me) whenever I could use a little good news, "Our" Forum delivers.
What a pick me up reading this thread early this morning.
We are All Leaders within our respective individual lives as Fathers, Dads, Husbands, Uncles, etc... but.
It is always great to come here and share/read great stories from young expectant Dads as well as stories from Old Veteran ones.
It represents a bond above and beyond and one that speaks to all who have experienced the profound joys as well as the sleepless nights racked with worry that only your children can engender. To ALL You - Salute.
For any new Dads - Please come, vent - ask- discuss or PM if it is of a private nature, the offer is always open.
So, Congratulations again and I look forward to arrival announcements HERE of the most blessed "Inbound" the heart can imagine.
 
Congrats man! That's great news. My wife and I just had our first 6 months ago, and it's been a wild ride to say the least!!! It's all good though. Wouldn't change a thing for the world! Like most have said, soak it all in and enjoy every moment. My wife and I are in our 20's and we were ready. Can't wait to take my little boy to his first knife show!
 
Congrats to all of the father's and soon to be father's. Looks like I've got a ways to go in terms of family AND knives... ;)

I actually just cut myself off of new pen and knife acquisitions until after I put a ring on the girlfriend's finger. I already have the hardware, but have rather grandiose plans for the actual event, not to mention PCSing around the same time frame. Bein' an adult sucks some times.
