Outdoors Picture of the Day

The Eureka Glacier near Paxson, Alaska taken from the helicopter while I was working up there in 2005:

"As far as screen size goes, I disagree. I have a 17" LCD and I have to scan back and forth on some pictures. Apparently kgd agrees. I picked 800 pixel width because that's what Photobucket says is its max size and that is a big picture."

It's not just the size of your screen, it's having your 'puter resolution set too low. My little lappie is only 17” and supports a modest 1280*1024. Even if a picture were to exceed that size it's far easier to make the changes in your browser than to generate a blanket rule.

image zoom will let you adjust the size on a case by case basis. It's got the handy 'zoom to fit' function too.

Hey baldtaco,

I stand corrected. Thanks for that.

Once I get past the basic functions, I am pretty computer illiterate. :(

It's definitely spring time in south florida. The animals are amorous, the pollinators are pollinating and the predators are hungry. And the weeds are growing crazy around the nursery which means I've been taking photos of bugs.

Flies. A pair of what I believe to be fruit flies and a house fly.

Tomorrow I'll post some photos of some spiders. Or hungry butterflies. Or maybe more bug sex.

Not sure what month this was, but it was definitely cold. Was trying to get an in-focus shot of the moon with tree silhouette, but there was interference by the clouds. I like the ghostly quality of the cloudy moonlight though.

This is a woodlot a good buddy of my bought up near the Kingston area of Ontario. Twenty six acres, not very development worthy, but has a little of everything (hills, swamp, forest and bush).
