Para-Military in CTS-204P

I love orange knives but I do not carry them in the woods of maine in the fall when all the leaves are orange. The green is for that season LOL. Stands out against the colors of the leaves that have fallen.

Beat me to it. ;) Orange is a bad color in the woods for at least a couple of seasons of the year in the Northeast. Blue is actually much better - other than some rare bits of ice there's nothing else blue on or in the woods or fields.

Blue is "Grover"
Green is "Oscar" or "Kermit"
Orange is "Bert"
Brown is ... "Snufalufagus?" or maybe "Fozzie Bear?"

Gray, Foliage Green, and Black... I have no idea... I don't know my Muppets that well...

I am so amazed that someone here starts a thread about a knives blade steel, and it turns into 11 pages of I got my order in.....oh my God dude I got mine in to, high five. Its not that big of a deal, you all need to learn some humility. When you get an order in for a hard to get $1000+ custom, that you can flip the day you get it for a huge profit. Now that's worth bragging about. I don't like how the thread got hijacked!!

No one is bragging here guy, it's a discussion about a Spyderco knife in the Spyderco forum. If you don't like it that is prerogative, don't poop on others discussions. Not everyone can afford $1000 customs, nor would everyone want to. Try and relax a bit, instead of trying to smash your point across in most of your 12 posts.

I agree completely, if you dont like it move on brother. I have a pre-order for 2 in. I also own several $1k plus customs with orders in.... and i still come back to my spyderco Para 2's as some of my hands down favorite blades! People get very excited for what they have coming whether it is a 1k custom or a $140 para 2 sprint, so lay off a bit please

How true is that... :D

I think those who order hard to get knives with the intention to immediately flip them for a huge profit are scum sucking bottom dwellers and do not earn bragging rights IMO.

I think those who are stupid enough to pay twice as much deserve to pay twice as much. I especially enjoyed watching the orange and blue PM2s sell for $200+ while they were still in stock on the dealers site for less. Sometimes I want to warn the buyers but its against the forum rules to help your fellow members out and tell them that they could get it for less straight from the dealer. :)

I guess the only thing worse than chiming in to say you got one too is to hijack the thread just to complain about others' posts. :thumbdn:

Maybe you should upgrade to dealer plates. ;)

I missed the preorder but emailed them and got on the "wait list". Secretly hoping a deal or 2 falls through, but not any of you guys of course :)

Someone had questioned when the new 204P mule would be released and Sal responded that the company was still working out some issues with the steel. Since this PM2 uses the same steel a slight production delay might be expected....

I was a little bit surprised by this but maybe Spyderco is busy with production and just behind. My understanding is that they produced and released mules in steels that they anticipated using, and this gave them the production experience with the steel and gave users experience with using the steel. Then Spyderco would have the benefit of that knowledge when it came time to use that steel in production. So that would imply that if they had an order for a sprint run using this steel, and if Spyderco themselves estimated that the target date for the sprint run was June, they should have produced the mules well ahead of that date. Apparently either they don't view it that way or they are just behind enough that it didn't work out that way. Whichever it is we are waiting for mules and waiting for green PM2's.

BD, Sal stated in his response that there was "a learning curve" with every new steel. To me, this would imply some difficulties (possibly heat treat?) with production. I always considered the mule program a way to get new steels to users at a lower price point since it's a bare bones model. I don't think Sal would release any product, mule or otherwise, unless he felt it were capable of performing up to his expectations, especially if a product recall might occur otherwise. I don't know if it's a requirement that the 204P mule be released prior to the 204P PM2. But, as you said, in either case we're all anxiously awaiting these great products!

I just got charged for the South Fork, so they can take their time as far as I'm concerned. ;)

ehh, I travel quite a bit and do not stay on top of the forums for when new knives are coming out. I don't have any problem with people charging 200$+ for the knives if they sell, but its a bit harsh to say people are stupid for spending that much. I've wanted a sprint para2 in my EDC rotation for a while now, but cannot justify spending the 215$+ that they sell for now so I don't have one. I ended up buying an orange one on the exchange a while ago, but was offered a small sebenza for it so I had it in my possession for less than 48 hours. Was the person that traded that stupid? Maybe...or maybe he just really wanted an orange para2.

I would have bought the blue in a heartbeat from the dealer if I knew about it. I'd love to get my hands on the green one as well, but again, missed the preorder and they're all out of stock now.
