What's broken with this Snark could probably be fixed with washi tape...it's only a scratch, really...
Had to do a bit of re-profiling on my Brute, too....I swear the edge came factory at, like, 70° - 90° > . ... couldn't even get it to stick in my spongy old chopping stump, which is like the....ok, forget the analogy: that stump'll let any tool bury its edge - except the Brute's. Started here, at about 80-85°:
And ended up, well...usable. Actually feathers ok, and cuts - a lot less like a splitting maul. But I had to take a metric $#!+ ton of steel off to get it there. Not that it wasn't totally worth it - I didn't get it to safekeep.
SO much steel on the "edge"....it'd be hard to thin it too much. Unless you're an AR sort of glutton for punishment, maybe. I stopped taking off steel because I was tired - and the thing was behaving in a proper knife-like manner. Which it was not when it came out of the box. So...I got lucky.
