yea no...im just kinda done with spyderco. im not getting my money back and thats it. it was my fault and i may miss out on a good company with this but im never buying from spyderco fake or not. and 120 dollars USD...
That is absolutely asinine. As well as the logic of wanting to keep a useless knife you wasted money on vs Spyderco keeping a useless knife you wasted money on.

Wow.

i did admit to my own mistake but that doesnt mean it doesnt leave any less of a bitter taste and opinion on what happened.

Well, hopefully you've learned a costly lesson for future ventures on your knife buying hunts.
Spyderco is truly a great knife to have and unfortunately one of the most copied brands.
Once you give them a chance, you'll understand what makes Spyderco a great knife.

If you admitted to it you wouldn't have a bitter taste in your mouth regarding Spyderco. A company (if it's fake) which had nothing to do with it. A company which you seemingly refuse to give the opportunity to try and make it right if it's a legitimate Spyderco knife.

Clap clap clap.

You overpaid, from an unauthorized dealer, on ebay. It's literally 0% Spyderco's fault. They make a great knife (though one that I don't prefer because it doesn't fit my hand) that's so well loved that it's probably the most faked knife in production. If that makes you sign the whole company off, to be frank, I doubt they will miss you and I doubt many here will put much worth to your opinion.

Also, unless I missed it, how has no one mentioned the plunge line on this knife? It looks to be two stepped, absolutely terrible. I'm no expert, but that'd make me think fake out of the box.

That seems like a sensible reaction.

Who do you buy your Benchmades through? If you buy them from an authorized dealer then why would you not do the same with Spyderco?

I think you should just say screw it and sharpen it and use it or buy a new Spyderco model from and actual dealer and see if that doesn't change your mind about the company. You cannot blame them at all for the actions that have played out.

Buying a knife off of ebay or someone who's not an authorized dealer is like buying a lawnmower from a flea market and expecting the company to warranty the equipment. You're the one who didn't buy an authentic product..

If anything, don't buy another Spyderco and stick with what you like; just don't talk bad about the company to anyone

Borage123- Sorry you got a lemon (fake or factory). Either way it sucks and pisses you off. I have a list of companies that I will never buy anything from due to first experiences. Right or wrong makes no difference to me once I get pissed. Good thing about it is there are plenty of companies out there waiting for new customers.

it only makes sense to send it back to Spyderco. If it is legit and they repair or replace, sell that sucker as soon as you get it back. The you can go buy a benchmade or 10 opinels :)

If it is a fake and they keep it all is best, because you will be free of that POS sitting in a drawer reminding you that it sucks.

Doesn't Ebay have a policy that fakes don't have to be returned? That's the case over here so I'd be surprised if the US is different. That being the case I'd send the knife to Spyderco, then if they say it's fake you have the best possible documentary evidence for your Ebay claim.

Really confused by this entire thread because like four or five days ago the OP had another thread where he talked about how he got a PM2 and didn't like it because he couldn't operate it with gloved hands. But now here's a thread talking about how he just got it and doesn't like it because it can't cut and the edge got torn up by cardboard. Which is it? Personally I have seen steel get jacked up like that, but it was a 440C blade that I was cutting against beef bones during food prep.

Good thing your knife is too dull to cut corners on the next knife you buy. Merry Christmas.
:D

You just won the prize for the stupidest thing I've read on the internet over Christmas.

Reading through the OPs post history tells a lot. Whatever happened to punctuation and grammar? Two threads with the same title and OP in different subforums? Looking for nothing but recommendations?

Getting butthurt and sticking your head in the sand will never help you. Return the knife by whatever means possible. Send it to spyderco to get it verified as a fake and then take that info to ebay. When you are in communication with ebay or spyderco please capitalize the first word in each sentence so they don't think you are a dult.

Complaining about paying $100 for a knife and then saying you are going back to Benchmade makes very little sense. At this point I am wondering why this thread even exists. You take pot shots at spyderco when the fault is completely yours. I hope you deal with other life situations differently than this one.

Yes, and you will also have consumed their time and $$ to advise you that you have wasted their time. Were I you I'd be apologizing to Sal here for unjustly impugning his brand and livelyhood.

and when i ship it to spyderco and they say its a fake i wont get it back with little to no compensation.

This looks to be the listing. Check out the pics. XXXXX

OP sounds ridiculous. I cut corners and bought from eBay, got a fake, so now im done with the real company cause im a moron. Dont want to waste another $100.. guess what, its not a waste if you buy the real thing!!. My guess is this guy is a teenager. Only a teen would be so ignorant to shun a company cause he paid for a knock off and is unhappy. Owell, go buy something else then, people like this are the same kind of idiots that cut themselves then blame/try to sue the knife company for the knife being sharp.

Lessons I've learned from this thread.

1) NEVER buy from Spyderco
2) Fakes are very hard to spot.
3) People never cease to amaze me.
