As a knowledge pif, I suggest a trip to goodwill for a smooth bottomed ceramic cup. It works great.

Did you get the Cuda? I used a 6000 grit Japanese waterstone on that. The guy had used some weird sharpener and it didn't sharpen the last inch or so near the handle so I hit the entire thing with one of those handheld whetstones to grind it down, then the waterstone was used the same way you see virtuovice sharpen his knives on YouTube. Messy, but works well.

Sorry they're not working for you. I should have charged them before I sent them. My apologies for that. They are a bit old, but haven't really seen much use, since I had 5 of them, and only 1 light they would work on. So most of those I sent out had only been through one or 2 cycles. They should be fairly fresh. Sometimes the charger can make the difference, since these are protected cells, and a bit longer than some, I use my 18650 charger with some spacers, and this setup seems to work well for those batteries. If you still can't get them to work, let me know and I'll take care of you. But hopefully the pure awesomeness of that knife will make up for any disappointment you may feel ATM:thumbup::D

Hey Dave, I will try a spacer, but the charger I use is universal or so I thought, if they are more than a year old and hadn't been cycled they very easily could have died for good, but no worries! I'll keep messing with them and see what I can do.

Yes, the Cuda. I had a feeling it was going to be the Japanese water stones. I have seen the virtuovoice video. Seems messy and expensive but wow, I think im enjoying this knife more with your edge than if it was new. Thanks for the info! :thumbup:

Hey did you get my email? Do you have a DMM, if so measure their voltage to make sure the protection circuits didnt get tripped. You could also use aboit any bare led emitter to may have laying around, see if it lights (but don't keep it light for any amount of time), again just trying to verify the protection isn't tripped...

Ok, will do. What should I do if they had been tripped? I tried them both out of the box and neither lit my light. Threw them on the charger and neither registered. I'll try the led. I don't have a DDM. I'll look for your email

Awesome. You know, you don't have to buy all those he uses. He might be just a little anal about it. Like I said I just use that single waterstone as a finisher/polish. You can REALLY feel the angle of the edge, because the stone is so smooth. I'll give you a "for example" link. They really aren't too expensive.
 
I picked up an Schrade OT77 quite a few threads back, and it finally is in my hands because my dad brought it over. I love it.
I'm carrying it to work today. =]
I should have more stuff up next week. =]

Hey Whet - its a meaty blade. Would do well in the woods I think. This ones claimed by NYO but if I find something else to put up ill let you know.
 
Does anyone on here do bead blasting? If so I have a pair of adamas scales that could use it. Not sure if it's ok to request, but that would be awesome!
 
I think Raindog101 had some scales that were bead blasted, though I don't know if he did it himself...

anyhoo, I have some Becker handles to pay forward, from a BK7, that were media-blasted to be more grippy. They're now more grayish than black, and have been rattling around in the "extras" box for a while. The texturing is very subtle, not like stippling, but still much more grippy than the factory smooth finish. I can take a picture if anyone's interested, I'm just feeling a little lazy right now. I'll post more stuff up later today.

Thanks guys! They are cerekote'd and sanding tem will ruin the grain, so if no one on here can help I'll have to find someone. Or buy my own.... :rolleyes:

Anybody want a 12" bowie? Pakistan made damascus. Don't have a use for it. Heavy blade seems to be good steel. Bought new on ebay. No longer a display piece if that's what you are thinking as I attempted to reprofile:rolleyes:the blade. Nothing wrong just some scratches. Includes cheap leather sheath:)

My fellow W, i have received the arrows! Thank you very much!! I tested them out to make sure they are long enough and they seem to be fine for my draw. The point sticks out just a bit when i pull it back.

Thanks very much once again! Cant wait to get out to the woods and see how they fly :D
