EDIT: Ok, I just opened the package and realized that these are MANUAL flippers and are 3cr13 not 8cr13mov. For what I paid, it's not a deal breaker and the package actually states these facts. In my excitement I did not fully read the card in the clam pack. I still recommend checking them out.

I just picked this up from the local box store. You guys should check them out, you won't believe the price! View attachment 392353

One of these will be offered up soon. I'm not saying which one or when, but soon. LoL

I picked this up also. I like that they are manual. Steel is slightly not as good but should do ok for light use. For $20 its a crazy good deal. I did a video on my youtube about these, you guys should check it out!

So a PIF thread for knives and knife related discussion, and another for other gear and general PIF related conversation?

I don't know, this one thread is difficult to keep up with on its own. Why don't the usual posters just make an effort to always include knife talk?

C'mon, man, where's your dedication?:D
In all seriousness, if another related thread is too much, then perhaps include a PIF item with every conversational post? The chatterboxes in this thread would have to keep a ready supply of stuff on hand, were that the case!

I'd like that Tenacious. And in turn I'd like to pay forward a Becker Necker I got recently from Iceman. I thought I'd like the handles the second time around (had one before, long ago) but don't. I'll post pics in a sec.
ETA: Here is a photo. As you can see, the coating has been stripped (a few small spots remain), and as a result, the sheath fits a bit loosely now. Something that can be taken care of by some heating and reshaping, no problem. I wish I liked the handles better, but the Izula is just so much more comfortable, I think I'll go that route.

If still available I'd love to try it out & see if it fits the bill as the EDC fixed blade I've been looking for. Thanks

Thanks a bunch! You can be sure it's going to get pocket time. I have right now an open competition for my primary EDC, and I've always wanted to see what all the Tenacious hype was about.

Nothing. But why stop there? BK24 FTW. Wish I had one, LOL!

Got your info, will ship it out today. Want me to convex the edge for you, or do you prefer to put your own on it?

I was mulling this over too. Perhaps a concurrently running thread in Community, titled "PIF chat thread", with links on either thread to the other one? Something like that?
I'm ok with a chat thread. But mainly I think contributors want this thread on Page 1 because it is helpful to people who need this or that, and it definitely is an active thread that needs a good flow of posts. If it were a sticky somewhere, people wouldn't have to include chit chat for it to be visible to those it would help most. However we've been told no non-knife full on conversation here, and no moving the thread elsewhere.

Basically we could indeed split the chat and the PIF, but then how would the PIF attract more givers and receivers if it ends up getting lost in pages of "should I get a sebenza?" And "compare this knife to this other knife for me".

Ok, the two Opinels have been ordered, i've sent emails and they will be there on Saturday VIA UPS.

Or just like add in something about the knife you are carrying or something.

Like today I'm back to a combo I really like, my native and Sheepfoot Charlow.

Obligatory knife talk

How does everyone who has received rats feel about them?

Its a smooth knife for sure and definitely sharp now thatbive put my own edge on it, its a laser, the grind lends itself to that.

But the stock edge went dull from simple cutting task, nothing rough, kitchen duty mostly. Just cutting opinions with no chopping baotd , slicing towards the thumb..

Of course the factory edge was kinda toothy and had a burr a mike long but it was very impressive, I felt like I was holding a light saber when I opened it and my 1st inclination was "this will mess you up", again due to the awesome geometry.

Also the coating has begun to wear off from slicing nothing but onions, plakntains, and the occasional package tape.

That's fine with me, its an awesome knife, thanks whet :)

But are the other reviews similar? How has everyone else faired?

Satin fairs much better. Those frakkin plantains! Destroying knives everywhere.

I am basically now obsessed with satin and olive drab handle combos now. And I carry my gifted Rat more than anything although I'm trying to pocket this Gayle Bradley a bit.

I know, I find the rat clipped to me every day even though im still EDCing my Opinel and SAK.

That's 3 knives... rat found room in my back pocket

I burned the grain on my Opi so it would show up strong. I swear that's the only thing keeping me from modding the crap out of the handle.

I wish this thread was about PIF's. I scrolled through a couple of entire pages without seeing a single word of offering or accepting a PIF.

I actually cut through a tractor tire with my Rat1... I am not joking... It was a tractor tire someone had turned into a planter for flowers etc etc. Was trying to move it by hand, but you try moving a tractor tire fill with potting soil... so for knives that day I had the Rat1 as my beater knife. The first steel belt was cut through with minimal damage to the edge (had to beat on the blade to get through) then the tire was just straight cut. If anyone knows anything about tractor tires you know they are FULL of wire to maintain strength, shape, etc etc etc... Cut all the way down with the rat1 to the second steel belt, but sadly it didnt want to make it through that one against the ground. Was able to flip the tire, let the dirt out, and move it after that but MAN! that Rat took a serious beating. Edge was not chipped out but just dinged up in the areas I cut with. I have seen people carry knives with a worse edge and still use them to some effect. Edge came back really fast with a diamond stone. The knife already had side to side blade play out of box and did not develop anymore even though it was being torqued the heck out of. Would another Rat survive the same? dunno. All I know I was very impressed with mine.

Must be skipping over posts then...on this page alone posts 780, 771, 770, 769, 766-761 are about offering and accepting. Quite a few on pages 19, 18, and 17. Haven't searched back any further but, like Worldwood asked:
 What have you offered????

Ok guys im done with these threads, im going to end up getting banned here, Its so hard to bite my tongue right now its ridiculous.

Im thankful for the generosity that has been shown, thankful for the great items sent my way and happy to have sent the items i have sent out to you guys, I hope the items i sent serve you all very well in great health. I hope you all have wonderful holidays and stay safe out there.

And here is something to keep this post on track.

As my last post here I will offer up a couple hard drives for laptops, Sir_mike has first dibs as he inquired about them already but i have a couple so 1 more person can claim. They are SATA, but i cant test them so they are "as-is" but i was told they worked fine when i got them, and i have never used them so i dont have any reason to believe they wouldnt work.

Please PM or email me to claim, posting here is fine but without the PM or email i might not see it, because im worried if i keep checking in and seeing stuff like a knife maker with a signature saying he tries not to help people unless its on accident looking for offers in a PIF thread without offering anything up, im not going to be able to control myself.

Thank you to the people who kept this alive so long, and i wish you all the best.
