Several pages back there was some talk of (and one or two being given) the Svord Peasant, I had heard of them but never saw one or even knew it was a FF, after being intrigued by the plastic handle and the FF and a quick search netted them new for <$20 shipped I now have a orange poly one on the way and can't wait to get to play with it!

It'll be my first FF, i really can't believe the price, I hope quality is good on my sample tho, has anyone else gotten a recent production, poly handled one, how do they fair vs. the older ones that seem to be so well praised?

Hey CK- I recently got a svord mini peasant in red poly and I really like it. The bevel was a little rough out of the box but that L6 sharpens and polishes beautifully an it's as good a slicer as my opi's despite its blade bein a bit thicker and being a different grind. Sorry though what do you mean by "FF"? Not familiar with that.

The HS2000 was sold for $270 as a promotional move to get people to buy it. Once people realized how good it was, the price started to climb, then SA took over and jacked the price up to match the quality of the gun.


I carry a Contego and a Presidio on a regular basis, so the Cryo 2 didn't feel that heavy. Compared to my 940, though, it's a lead weight!

The anodizing has worn off is all. I'm not sure if you can get the scales off without all the working springing apart or not, but if you can, you can have them reanodized almost any color you want:

Keep in mind that you cannot send it back to Benchmade for replacements since it's an auto. Your local dealer would have to send it back for you and receive it (federal switchblade laws being what they are and all).

The trick is to brace your fingers against the pocket clip when you pull the Axis lock back. That will help you hold onto it.


I ask for 4 at a time. They bend much too easily, IMO, and I tend to go through them pretty fast when they catch on the seatbelt, a hole in the couch, a table corner, etc.

What model is that knife? Are those scales custom?

Presidio. Above the photo it states that it is custom anodizing. The scales are the originals, just anodized in new colors.

aha! Well I should have known that. But it's actually more of a thumb folder cuz your thumb holds the tang back. Lol. I was wondering if anyone had tried modding a svord to lockback with some sort of pin that would fit through the hole at the end of the tang. Sort of like a bracket lock.

I have the leek parts Remy needs. Just found them while looking for more PIF items. It's a black leek btw. I would claim the modded leek if Remy doesn't want it and send the parts to him. If not that's ok with me too.

Still have these up for PIF'ing...Zippo, belt clip, and "portable butt holder" (when you can't snuff it out and leave a squashed filter laying there). Belt clip & PBH were never used.

very sturdy, amazing slicers, good steel, locking or non locking, fun and easy to modify, big range of different sizes, easy to sharpen and all that for 10 bucks.
