I always wanted to try a tops, also wouldnt mind a buck fixed blade, can i just go shopping thru your list LMAO

Hahaha, ummmmmmm ..... No! Tops it is, the offer will be sometime saturday afternoon, unless i kill a record book buck, in which case it will be sunday. So Saturday then, right?

I say ESEE. Because I like them lol. But I need to offer some more things up before I claim anything else. Maybe Monday after I unpack Sat. and Sun.

Here I am as captain spaulding tonight.:D

The ESEE's will be offered later, for this weekend it will be the Tops. Maybe something related to grilling to claim it

I got a brawler in an earlier pif thread with my first post in a pif thread through a contest. I received it and it is a cool knife, but I just don't think I'll carry/use it. Here are my stipulations:

1: you must intend to use it regularly. I would prefer it to go to someone who needs a beater for work or something. It'd be nice if you told me what you needed it for.
2: you must live in the lower 48
3: be cool about it, enforce the honor system upon yourself
4: email me at allhss320@gmail.com and ill tell you if it's yours

THIS IS NOT MY PICTURE ^ and its not the knife, but as far as I can tell the knife is new.

Preface: NOT CLAIMING

I've wanted to try the Brawler but never felt sure whenever I looked at it. I do however think it'd be a good fit for my girlfriend. She prefers meaningful jimping, assisted opening and a flipper on her knives. I'm really thinking a Cryo or Cryo II will fit her needs best and if so that means I can get her a ZT 0566 and she'll probably be set for a long time. For a small lady she can really push a blade to its limits.

It does have a shorter, but slightly thick, handle. It's definitely capable. It's not what I would call a classy knife, but very tactical cool looking. The assist works well.

By the way, your notebook will be shipped tomorrow.

I have, I liked the idea and posted about it in the very first thread him made about it before it even got going and every one since! Been a blast too!

Does anyone know does NYoutdoors work wired hours or what (I know he's an EMT), last I heard of him was yesterday morning around 7am, I haven't seen him post nor did he return my email, hope he's ok and nothing happened at his job or anything else, he's usually very active.

I feel the love! I'm okay, just burning the candle at both ends for the past few days! Still gotta check on those sling attachments for ya. Looks like things are still going pretty well here!

I'll crash your gates to get at one of those esses, not that I need it forever. Just that I own kabars/Beckers and everythime I recommend Becker's, someone puts it down with an "esse" bump and says they're better because of heat treat.

I just Wanna get my hands on one (not an izula) and see if it really is all the jazz that fanboys say they or if it's just that they come stock with micarta handles/kydex sheaths and the Beckers come "upgradeable"

If I get one in a claim, I'd just use it, abuse it, and put it back to thread. If it really is so good that I fall in love with it, then I could donate one of my Beckers.

Just saying, I'll be on the lookout...

Just out of curiosity who has been here since the first thread?

Probably a little late to answer this but I posted in the initial thread and so I guess I have been here, though I have only posted in the first and this thread. If I posted in any of the others I don't remember, so blame the meds!

man - i been hearing so much about these beckers. Any of them fit for New York City? Or at least to have for a camping trip?. Closest I have is a Mora or an Opinel 12. STV if you have a Becker that's itching to go I might just jump on it. but if you hold em all close to the heart I totally understand. Hope you're well

Here's a pair of Case Barlows from the 60's(?). These belonged to my dad and have seen some use. Both have the smaller pen blade while one has the one-arm razor, and the other a spearpoint blade.

Though these belonged to a man I love dearly, and continue to mourn his passing, he would rather see these being used instead of sitting in my drawer.

They go as a pair due to the blade variation of the main blade. Sorry about the picture as it is from my phone and really poor quality. But it gives you some idea..............I hope.

Cutter - these are beautiful. Are you sure you're ok giving away your dad's knives. I respect the desire to keep knives used. I only like users and use every knife i own. I'm also a traditional fanatic and use them everyday. I would be honored to take these two and pass on a couple i have sitting around. Thanks for offering.

They're pretty dear, one I don't like so much but my mom gave it to me as the only thing I got for my birthday lol. I've been trying to figure how to make it better.

None for New York City.

All are definitely fit for camping. They're camp knives, definitely not bushcraft and moras are the bomb.

I guess the thing that Beckers bring to the table is being massively overbuilt and baton-ability at economical Prices. But I Also like the designs. I think the bk-14 and the bk-16 would be sweet knives that are also sensible but have never laid my hands on them.

That's OK though because there are plenty of people out there to swear by the tweeners and Eskabar.

I've only got a 2 (wish it was a 10) and a 9. The thing that really flipped my switch on beckers is the Bk9, the knife is just so well balanced and has tremendous chopping power, it even took a piece out of my pinky for me >.<

But as a man with a sharp small knife and a saw, I often question the sanity of swinging around a 9" hunk of cro-van but then I remember that it's a 9" hunk of cro-van..

In short, if you get a Becker, get a 9. It might be crazy but it's a sweet knife, that's large yet nimble.

I think a lot of what is awesome about Becker knives is the Becker community. A lot of the guys are really into the outdoors and use their knives hard. I think that's a pretty strong selling poi t on the Beckers for me, a strong active user community and Ethan is involved in his forum and pays attention to what we are doing with his knives.

Order a kabar catalogue and thumb around it. I'm sorry that I can't part with one at this miment man, I'm not as blade rich as I seem xD.

Heck, I've been using the crap out of your Mora, was that thing laminated? Its defitely laminated in some form..
