People who blatantly and fraudulently sell knives as hand made when they are blanks..

Is there any way to report this guy to the BBB or anything like that? He is obviously a scallywag.

This is crazy. Some of these knives are a 15 dollar blade with a 20 dollar slab of wood and an hour or so in time, and they are not only charging insane amounts but claiming they made the whole thing.

This statement is solely my personal opinion and in no way states proven facts.

He could perhaps be sued for misrepresentation by someone who bought one of his knives.

I Just called him out on his Vimeo
https://vimeo.com/39862302
The whole video is him shaping a handle lol!

If you pause his video at 1:57 you'll see that the blade was already sharpened before he began shaping the handle, doesn't that seem a bit illogical?

If there was more transparency in his business, and revealed that he used blanks, then I would be okay. But given his rather high pricing and indirectly claiming to be all custom, I'm a bit appalled. Lets all try to contact him and spread awareness on this issue.

I did what I could to bring attention to his Facebook. These guys are true con artists and it really is spitting in the face of the real custom knife makers who work their asses off.

EDIT: He must know people are putting two and two together. Within a half hour my numerous comments were deleted and I was blocked from commenting any more. I hope some people saw my comments before he took them down. Seems he has much to hide.

Funny because I logged in today just to look up some info about oleg krymlin. I believe he is passing blade blanks off as handmade also. I cant believe this guy has scammed so many people( 33k likes on facebook ). I wonder where he gets the blank for the little stubby dagger that he likes to show off? Don't you think a reputable knife maker would try and defend himself against these comments instead of just deleting them?

Edit: Nermind, I found it http://www.ebay.com/itm/Knife-Makin...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

This goes on all the time on eBay...the Timber Wolf knife blank is being bought & put together & then being sold for $300+. Like they say "there's a sucker born every day"

It's as bad as these guys who are buying cheap Chinese knock-offs of popular custom blades & selling them as the "real deal".

So that magazine ad proves that he is using 13 dollar blade blanks from this company. People need to know they are getting ripped off.

Well I don't think much of his customer base is from this forum. The awareness is great; however, I don't think it will do anything. I suppose we could continue to message him or post on his Facebook page but I don't see it adding up for anything.

That aside, my question is what do we really want, given what we know about his business? Publicly shun him? Ask him to be more transparent in his business? In other words, how do you want him to reciprocate for his actions? And is it even reasonable, viable, or possible to enforce such action? I too am a bit distraught upon finding out about this, but at the moment this thread is only serving a room to vent out your anger or displeasure with William's Knife co action's.

He has a list of retailers you should report him to the retailers. Although I feel bad that he has posted up pics of his kids, he should be honest. He wrote on his e-store that he builds the knives from blade to handle and he should just retract that!

I suppose so. Does anyone want to send out a series of formal emails/letters to the dealers whom carry his knives?
