Photo competition #3, with a difference -WINNERS ANNOUNCED + PICS OF PRIZES

Use them then fix them. Usually what I have to do after my girlfriend borrows a knife. You shoulda seen my Menefee after she appropriated it to cut some drywall. I cried a little on the inside.

This brought a tear to my eye.

Well, there is a difference between using a $25 Imperial and a $xxx Rick Menefee! Holy cow!

I'd have cried on the outside. Loudly.

Thank you guys! Well, those clothes are typical bavarian outfit. The pants are made of heavy cattle leather. In the earlier days, this kind of clothes were the same as we wear jeans and cargo pants nowadays.

I like that outfit... ;)

Kind regards
Andi

Since you are from Bayern, red is not the first color that comes to mind. I would have expected blue and white.

Yes, I know what you mean. But this isn´t in that narrow view. I can throw a stone over the river Inn and hit Austria. And I´m half-austrian (and my heart is bavarian as well as austrian ;) ). In Austria you have red and white.

But the red-white shirt was really pretty traditional in Bavaria, next to the blue and white ones. Other colors just came by time, but that´s real fashion then. You´re right, when thinking that red-white is not typical bavarian. I don´t really mind about that. Being honest - living my whole life on the border to another country and have half of the relatives over there. ;)
Not very patriotical, but something like this, isn´t the point of view of the most people over here.

Kind regards
Andi

Ok, one more before Campbellclanman closes the contest.

My work partner and I are both trying to beat the 102* heat with purple Gatorade. Of course, I have to make a mark to determine mine from her's! It actually already was used, she didn't know which was her's or mine before I pointed out the mark. :)

Knife is a mid-70s? electrician's knife. Great heavy duty knife.

Thanks for all your input everyone, after this weekend, I will close off the thread, and we will do a random number selection of the winners.

Hey! So I have time for a couple more?

I walked in from work today and my wife threw me a package and said, "This came for you yesterday." I knew exactly what it was because I'd been waiting on it for almost a week.

This was a job for mighty 'nut!!

I have to say, the classic leather and classic peanut pair very well together. I love both of then dearly. Both minimalistic, both get the job done every time.

Nice score, man! Saddleback makes great wallets. The more you use them, the cooler they get. Here's mine, a medium billfold style:

Today while my wife and the littlest babies were napping, I did some much needed maintenance on my EDC rotation. Everything was brought up to a least 4000 grit and shaving hair sharp. I know, I know, one of these isn't a traditional. Sometimes I cheat and carry a modern styled knife as a second knife. Usually only at work though, otherwise I have really no need for one handed opening.

L-R: Kinsey's Peanut, Imperial EO Jack, Camillus Electrician's Knife, Kershaw Leek in 14C28 with the pocket clip taken off because they annoy me.

Duncan, I keep forgetting to get my wife or son to snap a picture of me using a knife, and now they are gone for the weekend.

So, this will have to suffice for my entry, a left-handed photo of my right hand using the peanut to slice jalapenos for dinner tonight.

These pictures do not actually show me using my knives, but they show the evidence of knife use.

My favorite traditional food prep knife, the GEC Northfield primitive bone Ben Hogan.

Here was it's first job, slicing an apple for a cool-me-off snack after a long day doing yard work:

Since I started with the peanut, I'll end with it too.

Just to show that my knife in use pics are not all about food, here is one taken just after I used my chestnut bone peanut to open the package containing my son's yeller peanut:

A proper close to all this from me, because bacon is good all the time!

Throwing some straw in my neighbors (both disabled) flowers beds this morning. Takes more work than I thought keeping two lawns in check.
My blue trapper from Case is my go to knife for the weekends. Still going strong after 10+ years.
