Photos! Post your CPK photos here!

Mat, I had never seen that black and brown handle with large scallops until discussions with contacts a while back, and images of that very handle pattern were sent to me. It is now my favorite shiv scales. What I didn't know, however, was that I would eventually come across one of the cerakote shivs with the exact same black/brown/large scallop textured pattern, which I am now working on acquiring.

Once I have it, I'll post images of both the cocobolo UF and the cerakote shiv with scales like yours. Damn, I love those scales. They are my absolute favorite. You really nailed a spectacular gift!

When I saw the pics on their table, the contours and the grooves on the scales did not jump out at me till I opened up the box! Yes, this one was indeed a gift from the Carothers Heaven via a Forum's Angel and somewhat assisted by Uncle Matty's own wallet :D

Can you also post a pic of your time machine please? I want one too when I grow up

My time machine is an integral part of a knife recently posted in the photos other than CPK section, which gives you many views of the mechanism. However, the science relative to how I am miniatured in order to work the machine is classified.

As fantastical and fanciful as this sounds, I would not discard is as utterly ridiculous. You have proven to be the man with some sneaky means at your disposal ;)

Casino, holy cow those shiv scales are a knockout bud!!

ETA: If you get a chance, some close-ups of the scales....pretty please.

You know Dave, I'm both a dummy and a dunce at times. Let me elaborate! When I saw the pics on the table, I thought that all those "tiger pattern" when laid out on the Carothers display table, I just thought that they were all the same and the more "3D" effects of these handles did not jump out at my judged from the photo. I went back and got the photo which is re-posted below and then now I had that "Aha" or the QED moment. Perhaps it is the larger feeling scalops which make the BB sheath such a very tight fit. What do I know?!

P.S. I see Saddie in the background so maybe she earmarked this one for me. In Dog I believe :)

You need to remember that I have been a collector for a LONGass time during which period I've come to know and deal with many, many other collectors, though more of custom knives. However, many of these contacts are familiar with Nathan's knives and the reputation he has gained, follow this thread and purchase here and there. They remain in the shadows, so you really have no idea who they are - but fortunately, through years of collecting, I do. It's definitely an advantage, admittedly.

^^^ just having some clean fun at your expense Bob and why not? ;)

But yes, you're quite well known as a preeminent ambassador around here.

Oh, no, I don't mind at all. This is what forums are all about, having fun. But I'm sure not a preeminent anything, lol. Just a guy who loves knives.

But u better keep THAT one out of site if I come around, lol.

EDIT: And ya never know when the time machine might come for a visit!

You are always welcome to come on over. We'll go grab some locally crafted beer and grub :)

If not preeminent, how about semi-emeritus? :P

I wouldn't have picked up on it from the picture either. I'd sure like to see some others done like that. Also, I really dig the way the forest green scales on the field knives look in that picture with the lighting.

There were some great looking different handles which we had not seen before on a select few, weren't there? The edgecut antique ones on a couple of LCs and a linen maroon one I picked up on from the pix. Some other ones with the EDCs and the FKs too. I guess I got the luck of the Irish 'coz of the horseshoe up me bum! :D

Apologies for the later response on this one as one of my adult Sons is moving back in with me for a few months (these millennials!), so I've been getting a room ready by moving and shifting things around! Not the best light around 5:30ish PM in the West, but here you go Dave:

I'm very stoked and ecstatic about getting this pattern and these contours, by pure luck. Had never seen 'em like this one before from CPK pics previously posted!

That is an amazing piece Mat, you have every right to be stoked about it. I really like how the milling brought out all of the contrast in the colors. I'm happy for you, that's a very special piece!

Thanks for taking the time to add the extra pictures

Thank you Dave . It almost looks like Jo was making handle scales and chocolate/coffee pastry all at the same time :D

Mat, is there any difference in the handle you have compared to the older ones that were scalloped? Not sure if the groves are deeper or anything.

Sorry Justin: to me, they feel and also look deeper which I love on this lethal type of a piece
