Maybe we should purge the first 20 on the PIF list? Some offerings go back to post 7xx and we are on 83xx. If they haven't been claimed by now ... thoughts?

I generally don't like clones but I can accept one with no PIF required. If anything, it's something to practice sharpening on.

Ok guys...again i apologize...it is super close, back of handle is a little different angle and the flipper tab is shaped differently. Kinda looks like a kershaw skyline...anywho, I apologize...
Im ok with whatever you decide. I apologize for any drama that may have started.
Back to the PIF action!

I’d agree w this... except drop maybe the first 19, which would take the current list to 35.
(Current #20 is a Buck 110 and a Timex Expedition, somebody can always use either of those.)

With that out of the way... what are all y'alls thoughts on OTFs? Been considering adding one to the arsenal to see what they are all about... Held back because Ohio law is purposefully vague on knives, and I assume OTF is going to connote "weapon" vs something like a GB1 should the proverbial excrement hit the rotating cooling device...

Sounds like Microtech and Benchmade are the brands to look at?

I’ve had a few microtechs and I just traded my last OTF, a combat troodon, for another hinderer XM-18 3.5” skinny. The OTFs are nice, but I still prefer a side opening auto which will deploy every time without fail. An OTF will eventually misfire on you and the blade won’t deploy and you’ll have to pull it out to lock it back in place then retract, if I’m carrying an auto I want to be 100% sure it’s deploying when I press the button.

This is my last remaining auto after giving away the Adamas, an apocalyptic edition microtech stitch, and it will never leave my collection.

I'm gonna pull that knife. Didn't know and I apologize guys. I took it in a trade. It's to close and I feel like anything even close to a clone after the shit storm that has had my name drug throw the mud is unacceptable at this point. @WValtakis and I have come up with an alternative knife. I think everyone will be happy with. Thank you all for clueing me in.

Don’t beat yourself up. It’s all good.
I know it happens. If I had known I would have said " this is a copy/clone of " . If the guy I got it from had told me I probably would have still took it just not for $80-100 off the deal. But that was years ago. Live and learn. It will forever be in my bag of tricks. Thank you though its awesome to have a group of guys willing to share the knowledge with out a baseball bat to the head. Cuz you know ( read under my user name.) Lmao

Some of us have been at this for quite a while
I mostly bought from stores. Only in the last 5 years did I start doing trading. And it seems that's were I went wrong. Never bought a knife from a knife store that was a fake or a clone but I have traded and seem to trust people a bit to much. Now I have a pack of buddies that got my back. Traders beware. Your not taking me anymore.

Yes sir. Always. Thank you for being understanding. Always the best intentions i have for you all!

Usually if it’s unbranded or the seller/trader has to explain it - that is all red flags for me.
I should have keyed into that. Not even a makers stamp. At least a makers mark. A very least. Have I mentioned I'm a idiot. Lol

It happens, unfortunately I recently had an experience with one myself that still bothers me even though no harm was done. Were it not for fellow forum members my issue could have turned out a lot worse. South paw draw South paw draw handled it perfectly. Nice group of people here.
I seen that. And i handled it just as you did. I have a feeling that knife will also forever be in your collection and haunt you in your sleep. I took it in trade. Years ago. So it's so far removed I don't feel the sting very much anymore. Also had a client a few weeks back give me a dr. Death clone. I didn't know what it was but I did know it was a clone. I thanked him but what am I gonna do. Tell him thanks but no thanks. He wasn't a knife guy. He probably bought it at the flee market
