If South paw draw South paw draw ever gets tired of that Russell toothpick, it's easily pinched and one hand opened;)
And what a steak slicer. I gave up the sunburst because of that toothpick. Reminds me I ment to mail that sunburst out this morning but was running late to sabre cats house. I need to get it out first thing Monday morning

It seems different for everyone. For me it changes.
I Liked big folders for awhile but now I like lightweight small folders under 3 ounces and ~3 inch blade. I am like you in that I have a different knife for different activities. Delica walking the dog in gym shorts, manix 2 lw s110v hiking for a bigger more versatile blade and tomorrow I will be sporting the new folder from @woodysone to church! I am no longer able to work but when I did as a financial advisor, I usually carried a small buck or sak. Good luck on your knife journey, that is half the fun as they say.
For me if I had to...a wharncliffe Delica or a GEC 72 wharnie lockback would be really compelling as single sole edc. But that would take out the fun of knives. A Tom Mayo Dr Death would do it for me as well, lol.

Moral of the story sounds like I need to look at a Delica! Spyderco isn't huge up here, might have to save that if a PIF comes up!

What Worldwatcher Worldwatcher said. For me, the native 5 is it. The BM sheeps mini-grip and Buck sprint pro are 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The spyderco UKPK is right up there somewhere. Just got a bugout and it seems like it would be pretty high up there on 1st impressions.

I like slipjoints a lot as well but for EDC, one-hand opening is pretty great some times.

Everyone keeps talking about and reviewing the bugout, might have to have it be my first new purchase as a Christmas gift to myself! The hunter in me really wants the grizzly ridge I saw in the display case next to it though!

The north fork and mini crooked river from benchmade are nice to in their hunt series. No gut hook though if you want one of those.

I found the mini crooked river to have a weird feel to it in terms of the closing action. Slippery and slow. In all other aspects it was a great knife, but it ultimately fell short practically.
I need to give the North Fork a try.

I've used friends' knives that have a gut hook on it and felt it was nice, but that it was also in the way on the knife for the 99% rest of the time I was trying to use it.

I just looked up the Mini Crooked River and may have fallen in love! Now that is a gorgeous knife!

Is this what your talking about giving a try? If it is. There pretty sweet. 20191026_200821.jpg

It definitely looks to be more of a Dapper Dan knife than an actual gun fighter! I'm a fan of my Dexter Russell knives for when I drop a deer and need to get after it! The white handles aren't pretty, but they are practical!

I won an auction for that same model. Really like it! I have never held the mini crooked river but it seems popular. Sucks to hear about their action. The north fork is nice and free dropping with zero blade play. Only benchmade I have.
I have alot of benchmades. Way to many. But out of them all I think the 940 and the bugout are about my most used. Well was anyways. The freek is taking the 940 out of my pocket. But the bugout is so light it's my pajama knife. So I think it will always get some carry.

So a question I saw a lot of talk about nixing “No PiF” did that come to and what happens to those items posted as such currently? You can point me to post with the answers not looking to rehash it all.

I have no idea. Been busy the last 48 hours. Haven't seen that mentioned. I'll have to catch up on the last 20 pages over on the other thread and 3 here. Just read page 18 and replied to the north fork commit.

Think mini grip with a full steel liner and g-10 scales. A little heavier and a slight recurve on the almost full flat ground s30v blade almost full flat. It's not just shy of.
That sounds like I'll need to visit the local knife purveyor on Monday to have a look see at it!

It stayed as just talk, from everything I read. If Jupiter's list still has the thumbsup they're still no PIF needed.

What about this vs freek? Which you liking better as a user?
Well. I'm selling the north fork because I got the freek and its larger and totally amazing. But I have a larger hand. The mini grip I. D2 with AWT scales is my sheetrock killing beast. And I think it always will be. But i really like benchmades D2 and the AWT SCALES totally changes the mini grip. The north fork was picked up on a whim. Just never really carried it. Used it to open a box here and there. Thought I'd put it to work but Never did. It's just sat In the box on a shelf in the safe.

Edit. I got the freek because I have the full size grip and i was going to give one to Pete and the other to Billy Bob. But Billy Bob had a melt down and drug my name throw the mud. Now I'm gonna keep the freek and give Pete the full grip in D2.

I am trying to figure out this whole PIF deal. They are talking steering columns there, and knives in the shop talk . I also see guys I have known a long time getting upset here. Still trying to decide if I want to jump in.
Point in time in my life, I have more things than money, I could see this being fun, or not.
I am a generous person, as are many here, but reading through the thread I have seen some strange things happen .
Anyway, looks like fun mostly, just weighing the fun vs irritation coefficient.
Carry on Gents, I need more coffee.
