Please help.

Yeah, I think a SAK would be very useful. I just need something that locks. I think that it was Noswad that suggested one. I'll show them when they get home from work. Thanks for the advice man.

I would personally try something a little more people friendly first like a classic red SAK, but good luck either way.

I'm pretty sure the one hand trekker SAK came in red, and the blade locks, so do you think they'd like that one?

...and wise. ...and benevolent.

Don't forget grumpy. :D :foot:

Maybe? Maybe not. I don't really know them, so I can't say. But I do think if there is significant hesitation about a pocket knife being a "weapon", something as people friendly and iconic (specifically for being a tool rather than simply a knife, no less) would give you a better shot. Just my $0.02.

Yep. Thanks man. Appreciate the advice.

Yeah marcinek, I'm sorry if I was rude to you. I respect you a lot, as I do everyone else in this chat, and I've learned my lesson with both my parents as well as the language I originally used in my post. I hope there are no hard feelings.

1) Relax. I never said you were rude.

2) You shouldn't respect random strangers on the internet. You should respect your parents. And, honestly, I don't think you mother's initial decision was rash. It was a pretty good one in your best interest, IMO. They MAY have an understanding of the world you haven't gotten yet. Act like a respectful grown up around them (and other people in the "real world") and that respect will be returned.

3) Don't open threads whenever an idea pops into your head. Make your threads count and be consistent with your story across threads. Read more post less. Those are great ways to not appear trollish. Or like a goof kid.

4) Work on getting that SAK Super Tinker. And you don't need a knife that locks. Learn how to use your folding knife properly and it will not close on you. Pretty simple process....cut down, don't stab. People have been doing for hundreds of years with non-locking folders.

OK. And you're right. I don't necessarily respect you guys, I don't know you, so how could I. What I meant was that I respect that you are taking the time out of your day to answer a random stranger's questions. I think that that's pretty cool.

I think this thread is done for.

Feh! This threads just hitting its stride! We talked some sense into Schmakahoozits, lol cats were invoked, and noswad finally realized the will of marcinek is just...and good.

And we talked about knives.
