Please make a cf calypso jr or the paramilitary in ZDP-189

I think the burgundy sounds neat. Is there a picture anywhere that someone can post or link of FRN in this color?
Someone mentioned previously they'd seen something like it on a prototype?

Here are the pictures I saved of the protos...

I like it :D

well, that's not as ugly as I thought, but I still don't really like it. but the black one is soooooo sweeeeet!
why not to make 2 runs of 600, one in black and one in burgundy?

still like the grey FRN best.

if the run has to be in burgundy, I think the beadblasted clip is a much better match than the black clip with the gold logo.

Forest Green is the nicest colour that can be on FRN knives, that's my taste too, but I think Black is more universal and will suit more people.

After a quick explanation of the exciting possibilities of ZDP-189 over on BB, I must have at least the Calypso Jr! $110 comes out at about £60 UK. I better get saving if I want 2 Calypso Jrs and a Delica... After the UK Penknives too, and talk of a new Lil' Temperance you really are spoiling us Sal! I'll send my bank manager your regards :D:D:D

But... if this is the Ferrari of blade steels (as said in Blade mag) I would think that the Military would be the knife to do.

I collect Delicas, but to me putting the steel in a Delica is like putting the Ferrari engine into a Neon. Now a g 10 Delica....

Just my 2 cents.
I triple agree the Militarty is the place for new "super steels" it makes it easy to compare it to cpm-s30v etc. :)

I think the color choice for the Calypso Jr is a great one. I do however think the clip needs to be the beadblasted one. How about beadblasted with a red bug? That would be nice.

I really like the Burgundy. I agree with VultureParade. It needs a clip like the one on the gray Calypso Jr.

Sorry if we missed on the color for some of you.

Heck, you know I'm going to buy one no matter what the colour :D

Mind you I agree on the bead blasted clip, just too cool ;)

I will buy one regardless of the colour, but burgendy would not be my first choice. I love the blue Spyderco used with the blue Delica.

Sorry if we missed on the color for some of you. We had to make them different colors to be able to distinguish them from the VG-10 version. There are only so many colors that "might" appeal to the largest audience.

I understand. I just would have liked both of these runs to be blue.

I like the burgundy. I too would prefer the clip to be bead-blasted like my gray Caly. If the blade is black too, a black clip would be ok but then it would REALLY be a hard sell to John Q.

Just a note that the pics I posted were from years ago. They are not protos of this new run butt of the pre-lightweight issue. I tweaked the color a bit to tone down the red in the original picture as the new one is to be burgundy rather than the red in the original prototype picture. I hope the new burgundy is darker than the red on this prototype or it would look like a trainer.

I agree that the beadblasted clip as on the grey Calypso would be the best choice.

I just got on new graham's wait list for this baby, I can't wait.

I wish Spyderco would also make the full sized Calypso again, I just got a used one in trade with VG10 & micarta scales - only thing better would be if it was in ZDP-189 with a bead blasted stainless clip.

I know, I'm dreaming.
