Hi, I'm that guy. Really sorry if my participation here stirred the pot, that was not my intention. I'm happy to share any information I can that will help people. I realize my very scant participation on bladeforums looks really shady though and I can butt out if it isn't helpful, really only hoped to give another data point and maybe some hope since it appears my item did ship (now wondering if the knife will actually be in the box when it arrives). If I can give any helpful information just let me know. The member that claimed his knife was shipped has a total of 4 messages over the accounts entire duration. 2 of them are in this thread. Could easily be a burner account used by a scammer.
So he has had plenty of time to respond to and update his buyers here. If he is not trying to steal their money he is still someone I would never deal with simply due to his lackadaisical attitude about shipping and communication.
Do you have a real name for him or any contact info? Address or email? that may help the half-dozen members waiting for some response re: the whereabouts of their knives.I dealt with him on reddit a couple weeks ago, communication was quick and no issue however I was the seller.
"negative feedback should be given once the knives are received in order to save prospective future buyers the inconvenience of dealing with a flaky seller."
I looked to see if I could leave negative feedback but because he's blocked me it doesn't look like it's possible.
One of his or her reddit commentsI certainly feel for all of those affected by these recent events and I'm sorry, I've been in your shoes and it sucks.
Looking at PM2Phanatic's Reddit activity I'd guess it's a female, under 30, from the immediate gratification generation.
Probably not an "intentional" thief, but young enough that (s)he still doesn't mind burning a few bridges by taking money from a few "old men",
in the same way that good credit isn't seen as a priority, and stealing from those who "can afford it" is a moral grey area at best.
Seeing that (s)he is still actively acquiring knives on Reddit, and because Reddit is irresistible to the meme-minded, and therefore more "fun" than this site is,
I'd say (s)he moved on and will consider this place just one more boring old bridge burned that (s)he has no intention of crossing again.
Just the ramblings of an old man.
