No. I use the sharpened edge to cut things. Occasionally, I will exert some downward pressure on the spine while I am doing so; but, with the blade in use, I've never felt any "give" in the lock.
I don't think I've ever felt compelled to chop with a folder - I have other tools for that job.

No. Edited to add I own 4 Zt’s, 0801bw, 0562cf, 0770, 0804. When the previous zt post went crazy I spine whacked them all to see and they all were fine.

Not I. If I were going to complain about anything it would be the annoyance of having to change my grip to keep pressure off the lock-bar when opening. I think I have 10-12 ZTs. I wouldn't describe my use of folders as "hard use." I've just never though that to be what a folder was designed for, marketing claims notwithstanding.

With respect to cutting? No, then I never tried to pry with it but as a functioning knife it’s yet to fail and I carry both a 0808cf and an 0770 both gifted to me by a member here and I’ve carried both for a couple years now.

These two are my only ZTs. Never had any problems with them.

I've never had one unlock during use, though most of mine did fail light spine whacks against a small stack of A.G. Russell mailers on my desktop.

I have owned many that were pretty crappy cutting tools, more cool pocket toys with a sharpened edge than a tool designed for cutting things like the 0801--looks great feels great, blade so thick not far behind the edge that it might as well be a hatchet. IMO there are approximately zero legitimate uses for a folding pocket knife that an 0801 would be better for than an Opinel would.

I still like them and buy them though. I'm loving my new 0850, incidentally. It's tacticool and has a too-thick blade, but I enjoy it and don't mind that my Opinel #7 cuts circles around it--it's much cooler looking and more fun to play with.

So far, 10% of pollsters asserted that they have experienced lock failure from ZT knives.

This means 100 out of every 1000 will experience failure. This should warrant a full recall of all ZT knives. User safety is paramount.

Additionally, some of the pollsters who stated "no" have never even tried the spine tap test. Thus, there could be thousands more faulty ZT knives than this poll even suggests.

Thank you for posting this data.

Oh do give over. I have zero love for ZT, I think the knives are nasty looking. I own precisely one, with no lock issues, and it might as well belong to someone else. But you, mate, are behaving very badly here.

Your assumption is ridiculous. Go back to school.

I'm relying on the data provided on this poll. I didn't make this thread.
