Poll: Have you ever had a ZT knife fail on you?

Have you ever had a ZT knife fail on you?

  • Yes

  • No

Results are only viewable after voting.
If the poll is valid, then my extrapolation of the data stands.

False. It does not ask how many are owned and of those, how many have failed. The poll ONLY shows if a voter has had A (could be out of 1, 2 out of 2, 2 out of 10, or even 1 out of 2509) ZT that has failed. You would need all those figures to come to the conclusion you are.

If the poll is valid, then my extrapolation of the data stands. Also, I love you.

One thing this poll makes MORE THAN CLEAR ... is if you use the tool as intended it works .. if you can't seem to figure out which is the sharp edge you may want to join boy scouts or something to learn basic knife safety.

Almost any tool will break or not perform well if used wrong or in an abusive way.

So you believe that ZT knives should be used the same way as a slipjoint? I agree with you, sir.

They are trying to defend their collection.

False again. I don't even own a ZT at the moment. And it had nothing to do with quality and everything to do with preference.

All due respect, not answering questions posed to you and not providing proof of your own when you are continuously making accusatory statements about a company is a bit rude at best, and at worst... is something else.

Something else it is.;):D

You're next.

I have 85 knives in my collection worth almost $20,000, and the ZTs are fine knives. People should buy, check them out, and then rest easy. They are great knives.

I recommend the ZT 0095TANBLK in S90V if any are left. Excellent knife.

No you don't.

No one here believes you. Go away.

So you believe that ZT knives should be used the same way as a slipjoint? I agree with you, sir.
I believe you've said elsewhere that you've sold your ZTs and won't buy another one. You've expressed your opinion on their locking integrity over, and over, in this thread and others. Whatever mission you're on, whether it's to enlighten the benighted, or just annoy the bejesus out of everyone, I'm happy to report that it has been accomplished.

Exactly! I had one in 6 fail on me and that is a non issue now as it works perfectly fine after breaking in.
I sometimes do wonder about the break in period and the role it plays in these discussions. I do have a feeling that many brand new knives or collectors who don't use their knives never properly break in their knives and ignore this possible factor.

I didn't start this thread, sir.

I noticed after hard flipping the knife did not under any amt of pressure close improperly. So I flipped it hard for around 100 times and set it aside after testing it. It does not fail anymore with the work ZT did on it and breaking it in.

What I believe is all tools including knives should be used as intended ... and if you chose to use them in a way they aren't intended ... then it's on you not the tool.

Never a failure in dozens of examples.
"Solid as Sears"
That used to be a relevant statement. :(
