For this preorder promotion, I am leaning toward a across the board starting price of $120 for a GSO-4.1 in either M390 OR CPM-3V. That would be for a knife in one of the basic handle materials and standard domestic ground shipping. The M-390/Elmax sheet stock generally costs me more but since we're finding the CPM-3V is more costly to machine in its hardened state, it's pretty much a wash. To help weigh the potential savings, the regular starting price of the GSO-4.1 will be $165, standard domestic shipping included. Sheaths and other options will also be available as an "at cost" upgrade.

What's a GSO-4.1? I thought this was a newer variant of the EDC-4.1? I must've missed something.

The GSO-4.1 is going to be the knife's name after the revisions. It is a revision of the EDC-4. I just want all of my knife models to have the GSO moniker moving forward.

Ok cool. Just as long as you don't put a finger choil on it like the 5 and 10! ;)

Haha! No, I'm aware the two crowds are highly polarized. Over the coming months you will begin to see more and more offerings, in various sizes and configurations. If you aren't signed up to the newsletter yet, on the SURVIVE! website, you might want to get on that. Trust me on that one.

Yep, signed up already. At least I hope I am. Thanks, can't wait!

FYI, tried and got "There was a problem adding you to the General Interest Newsletter, Please try again."

it could stand for Great Survival One knife option too Guy any word on the edc-4.1 promo Thanks Roland

Hahaha! Thanks Man. Yes, this GSO-4.1 preorder will be kicking off this week for SURE. My solidworks guy has everything about buttoned up and he is also working on another option idea of mine, that I wanted to run by everyone. I believe it will be especially relevant to the EDC-4/GSO-4.1 so I might do a trial run for the promo, if the interest is there. Don't ask what it is yet, please. LOL I need a surprise or two.

Ok Guys and Girls! Here is the SURVIVE! GSO-4.1. Man, I really nailed it with this revision. We are preparing the store front and the preorder should open in a day or two. I will update this post, as soon as everything is ready to go. Enjoy the images!

Schweet!!! Can't wait to spend some money!

I love the overall design. The handle looks just about perfect, as does the blade design/grind. I assume it's a saber grind? Does it have secondary bevels or just the primary sharpened?

Haha! Thanks for the kind words. It is an asymmetric saber grind, meaning the panel shrinks toward the tip, for a more robust point, in a thinner knife. Notice how quickly the tip comes to a point. The cutting edge will be a secondary bevel, on about a .025" shoulder. So far, people have been absolutely loving the EDC-4, so I can't wait to see what everyone thinks of this when it is finished.

I can't wait to field dress some deer with one of these. I hope all continues to go well according to your expected schedule. Thanks for the pics of the new design.

Same here. Mine will get used quickly. Too bad I can't get one this week, headed out camping this weekend!
