Potential Thief on Ebay - SCAM

Welcome to Bladeforums. This sub-forum, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, is a free speech forum where both parties to a dispute can give their viewpoints and anyone who reads it can make up their own mind. No complaint is ever deleted from this forum, and neither are responses to complaints.

I am an honest seller with integrity and an acute sense of values. As I told you in my personel email to you on EBAY, I do get ideas for listings from other good ads, but I DID NOT copy your pictures and I did, indeed, have a BUSSE Badger E for sale. EBAY cancelled my auction and then reinstated it because there was no foundation to your claims. I have no idea what pictures you sent to anyone years ago, however, these were my own, no matter how "poor" you think they were. What is horrible now is that these unfounded accusations are hurting my business and my family. My family has googled my name and it says "Potential Thief". This is slander and I have asked Blade Forums to remove any such reference as there is no foundation and it is an insult and unwarranted. I try very hard to provide a good service with honesty and integrity. How would you like it if I called you names and posted unfounded accusations all over the web for all to see? Regarding the ad, how many ways can you describe an identical product without sounding similar - the manufacturers description is the manufacturers description!! I not only sell purses and clothes, althought that is my current product. I have sold MANY great knifes in the past. Check my feedback - it is nearly perfect, with the only negative being for an item I purchased and didn't receive. All of my sales are 100%! Now you are all into this "stupid" testosterone driven rampage and all it is doing is hurting me an my reputation. STOP -- PLEASE BLADE FORUMS REMOVE THIS THREAD!! I HOPE SOMEONE READS THIS WHO HAS SOME SENSE AND ENDS THIS!!

If you are innocent of any wrongdoing, you should probably try to leave out words like "stupid" and "crazy". A lot of us have been drug through the mud here (myself included), and if you can keep a level head and explain yourself rationally you'll be better off. Anyone who sees this negative thread about you will also be able to see your side and make their own decision.

This should not have happened to you as you did nothing wrong.

The original post stated that this was a potential thief. Given that the auction description was stolen from the OPs listing, and the seller had no history of selling such items, I think it was entirely plausible to think something fishy may be up.

I don't think so. . . I saw other posts and the knifes listed by yardroc_treasures. Sounds like a person wanted to eliminate competition, nothing more! Did HBE ever sell his knife?

The word “potential/alleged/suspected/I think/etc” should not have been used unless there was a fact to claim! These words harm a person reputation with NO supporting evidence, because you say "potential" it releases you of the responsibility of proof. THAT IS JUST WRONG!

T100, what is your relationship to BodySnatcher and Yardroc_Treasures?

Is it just a coincidence that all three of you registered on 5-21-2008 or are you somehow involved in this?

No relationship at all, it is an odd coincidence. I have read this forum many times and felt the need to put in my 2 cents when I read the posts. (So, I joined) I just don't like bullies and that is what is happening here. :) I’ve got to tell you, I called Bodysnatcher on the plagiarism issue. He was wrong and I believe HBE is wrong too.

It is a fact that she copied his auction almost word for word, including formatting. I believe he was right to have suspicions. Most people wouldn't search for other auctions and steal their content, before listing their own similar item for sale. He had every right to consider this a potential scam, and to warn others on this forum.

It wasn't him trying to eliminate competition. His knife was already listed. The other seller came in after that, stole his auction content, and undercut his price. Making it look at first glance like this was the same seller, selling two of the same knives.

From what I read, the knife was sold, positive feedback was left by the buyer, no potential scam happened, an apology should be made, whether the ad was copied or not.

no potential scam happened

Did you just plagiarize? Is this a scam? I don’t know why you are pissed at me. I think both parties are wrong.

Did you just plagiarize?

Yes, I believe I did.
As an aside, I don't have any potential to sell, so I'm not stealing for profit.:D

Is this a scam?
Is what a scam?

 I don’t know why you are pissed at me.
I'm not mad at you. Did you not see my smiley? I just found that particular statement funny. I apologise if you thought I was being mean. Would you like a hug?

I think both parties are wrong.
We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

I thought it was odd that all three of you all registered on the same day, I suppose it could be a coincidence.

You and BodySnatcher are the only two people that seem convinced that Hillbillenigma did this as a means to eliminate his competition on Ebay rather than having a genuine concern for the well-being of other Busse collectors.

Since you have no supporting evidence to back up your claim that Hillbillenigma did this to eliminate his competition perhaps you shouldn't be making accusations.

Since you have no supporting evidence to back up your claim that Hillbillenigma didn’t do this to eliminate his competition, perhaps you should stay out of it? Too!

Like I said, "I have read this forum many times and felt the need to put in my 2 cents when I read the posts. (So, I joined)"

I have said that both parties are wrong and I am not the only person that thinks this way.

Kaihs = No harm no foul. I did miss the smile. Let’s not talk about the hug too much.

There have been many "travesty of justices" far more serious than this one on BFC T100. I find it disingenious on your part to make us think you don't have some connection here.

If this is what triggered you to post on a knife forum then you are not a knifknut but some sort of justice seeker. May I suggest www.Ihaveableedingheart.com, it may suit your sense of fairness and justice better.

Two different people who post identical comments..........................Yup, I hear quacking!!!!

I don't pretend to know what Hillbillenigma's motivation was, you on the other hand, are making baseless accusations.

Sounds like a person wanted to eliminate competition, nothing more! Did HBE ever sell his knife?

That hurts your objective credibility.

Furthermore...

These words harm a person reputation with NO supporting evidence...THAT IS JUST WRONG!
