Potential Thief on Ebay - SCAM

Regarding the ad, how many ways can you describe an identical product without sounding similar - the manufacturers description is the manufacturers description!!

My thoughts exactly... If I was going to sell a knife I would take the description from manufacturers or dealers site. What is wrong about it?

David

The original post stated that this was a potential thief. Given that the auction description was stolen from the OPs listing, and the seller had no history of selling such items, I think it was entirely plausible to think something fishy may be up.

It was NOT stolen from the OP that did not sell his knife. How can you not see that.

Not plausible, nothing fishy.

This thread should have NEVER been started.

OP needs to admit he was wrong, and apologize.

This is the worst feedback thread I have ever seen..
1. no facts
2. no levelheadedness
3. nothing that pertains to Bladeforums
...
4. Complete BS , slanderous attacks...on someone with 100% positive feedback...ON EBAY??

MAN UP, and admit you mussed this up...please dude

No relationship at all, it is an odd coincidence.

This situation seems rife with coincidences.....

Exact verbiage not copied.....

Three "No relationship" posters, joining the same day, with identical IP addresses....

The planets must all be aligned....

coincidence doesn't always make it a lie. We must remember that in life or we will be calling alot of innocent people liars.

Happens way to much. That's what got this harmfull thread started.

I don't suppose anyone will be very surprised to learn "BodySnatcher," "Yardroc_Treasures," and "T100" all have the same IP address.

This thread still should have NEVER been started.

Seller on the bay did NOTHING to deserve being called a possible fraud.

This is what happen's when some people assume to often:rolleyes:.

And no, I don't share there IP addy:p

If it is the same person, they were wrong in posting here under diff names.

Then again if the thread was never started they would have never had to come here to try and clear there name.

I don't sell on the Bay, but do feel sorry for the person that did nothing wrong while selling there.

I hope the OP has already apologized for starting this thread.

The OPs auction was copied. A few words were changed or added. A couple colors were switched. But it was still copied. The formatting is the same. The punctuation is the same. The capitalization is the same. There are parts of the listings that could not possibly have been copied from Busse's website, but still end up in both auctions.

Why does it matter if he HBE sold the knife or not? That's not the issue.

If HBE's listing was just specs, then it would be stupid to say it was copied. It wasn't.

Let's say I open an online knife shop. If I cut and paste A.G. Russel's web pages to my site, and just change a few words, I'm in the wrong.

That means nothing!!! nothing I say:rolleyes:

It is merely a coincidence, that all three coincidently live in the same house and use the very same computer.............but a mere coincidence:rolleyes:

Just like verbatim verbiage, formatted identically. What the hell does that prove I say.................................Quack, quack, quack:D

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, smells like a duck and answers to the name donald;

It is just a freaking coincidence, it means nothing. All the above when added together equals a Portugese water dog.........................Yup!!!

From the movie Hot Shots
Admiral Benson: Call down to the galley and order up some soup.

Lt. Commander Block: Yes, sir.

Admiral Benson: Ahhh... I love soup. At least I think I love soup. Blasted shell! It's either soup or duck. Which one do you shoot?

Lt. Commander Block: Duck, sir.

[Admiral Benson hits head on desk while ducking]

Lt. Commander Block: Are you alright, sir?

Admiral Benson: Of course I'm alright! Why, what have you heard?

Lloyd Bridges, comedic genius...

i agree. it smell something fishy and its not coming from hbe. hey cougar, if you ban one ip, wont it ban the others;):D?

No, that's a citation. It's plagiarism only if you try to pass another's words/works/creations off as your own.
Just a friendly fyi, he did not cite the original source in that post, so it is indeed plagiarism.

Carry on with the thread.

Dought she stole his words.

But if the worse thing the ebay seller did was steal a few words maybe this thread title should have been...

"Potential word Thief on Ebay"

but no whay should he have put...

"Potential Thief on Ebay...SCAM"

The ebay seller pulled no scam people.
